More like 14+13+6=33 games too late. The problem is it's 6 games too late already.
Bump for reevaluation.Do what now? You think we could "very easily" go 0-8 in the ACC? Dude....
We are clearly not going to agree on this and that's fine, but I cannot fathom how anyone can look at our schedule, and look at the teams that will be lining up across from us, and look at the way we've recruited this roster versus how most of those teams have recruited their rosters, and think that going 9-3 is some earth-shattering accomplishment.
Before the season even kicked off, we were 3-0. At this very juncture in the season, here in week 3, you know which team on our schedule looks to be the hardest remaining game? Boston College. BOSTON COLLEGE! You really, truly don't think that we should expect to win at least 6 of the remaining 9 games on our schedule? If the answer is no, that's fine, but it just means that you have bought hook, line, and sinker into Mack's "8 wins is pretty good around here" horseshit.
Definitely should have been at the end of last season at least. He wasted Drake just like he did with Sam.More like 14+13+6=33 games too late.
Mack should have retired after Sam’s junior season.
We aren't going 0-8 lol. We absolutely suck, but we aren't going 0-8.Bump for reevaluation.
How about winning 6 of our last 9?We aren't going 0-8 lol. We absolutely suck, but we aren't going 0-8.
That's the spirit! How about winning 6 of our last 9?
That is the only way the Mack hire would have ever made any sense. Stabilize the recruiting and general state of the program for 2-3 years max, then hire an actual coach.More like 14+13+6=33 games too late.

Problem is it will happen at the end of the season too.At least the losing streak is happening early in the season for a change.
Do we have to pay Mack his $100,000 salary again this week after another clown show? That's the game.
He’s got a lifetime contract for producing at the level of Fedora. TerribleThat is the only way the Mack hire would have ever made any sense. Stabilize the recruiting and general state of the program for 2-3 years max, then hire an actual coach.
The fact that we’re on year 6 of this shit is asinine but hilariously on brand for us.
UNC's defense has effectively been AWOL for over a decade now. The good seasons we've had under Fedora and Mack have basically consisted of having offenses that are good enough to usually outscore most of our opponents to get us to a winning record. And even those seasons usually ended in disappointment in bowl games or ACC championship games as formidable opponents were able to slow down our offense while cutting through our defenses like a hot knife through butter. Most of our defenses for the past decade or more couldn't stop or even slow down a good high school offense. It's like watching an old Keystone Kops movie in real time. We’ve all seen this before. Many, many times.
I think Doeren has Mack's number. Doeren knows very well that his most important game each season is the UNC game, and that his job security depends on consistently beating UNC. And so he makes sure that no matter how mediocre State is the rest of the season that the Wolpfackers are ready and fired up to play and beat UNC, and they invariably play their best game of the season against us. It wouldn't surprise me if Doeren starts planning for the UNC game at the start of the season. And meanwhile Mack seems to treat the State game as just another game on the schedule and dozes through the game and happily shakes Doeren's hand after Dave hands him his ass yet again. And when Doeren plays to his State base by insulting and ridiculing UNC's football program Mack's only response is to cry and whine at press conferences about how undignified and mean they are. Until UNC gets a coach who is as fired up for the rivalry as Doeren is we'll likely continue losing most years to them, imo.We will not beat State.
