Really hate it for the offense to fight back like that and tie the game only for the defense to just blow it. Mack has really let this team and the whole program down by refusing to actually do any coaching. He was good for recruiting but his teams have always been awful on defense since he returned, and underachieved and had late season collapses when he had Maye and Howell at QB.
 
I have the Sads now and once again the sleeping giant is like the fat bears. Hibernation for another decade. As Doris Day says Kay Sarah Sarah!LOL
I feel like Charlie Brown and Lucy kicking the ball. When will we ever learn.......

No, they don't. Because Mack doesn't care. He's well into his seventies, he's already got his national title that he'll be remembered for, and it seems obvious now that he saw his return to Chapel Hill as a nice way to ease into retirement while making good money. He oozes complacency and his players and coaches follow suit. For the past several seasons he had two superb QBs, Howell and Maye, to bail out the team most of the time, but now that they're not here there's no one to make up for the poor in-game coaching, lack of player development, and a host of other issues.
 
Yeah that's all history I think I'm ready for the future. We'll figure it out eventually and an unassuming hero will appear in my fantasy. Let's agree to "Not going back!".
 
Gotta give it up, though. Letting the other team run 70+ yards for a TD when they are just trying to run out the clock is quite novel.
