Pitt and GT (with a healthy Haynes King) are considerably better than us this year. Minnesota (especially with a healthy Darius Taylor) is also better than us this year. Despite that, we kept all three games closer than we deserved to.
Which gets to my point. JMU is really the only BAD game we have played this year. But make no mistake, we are not a good team. And that was a point I made louder than most during the preseason. Everyone was talking how weak our schedule was (and that is completely true) while ignoring how weak we were.
That said, the QB play has been a pleasant surprise. If by some miracle the UVA version of our defense were to show up in the last four games, it should provide a nice ride into the sunset for Mack.
