It can happen, it just won’t (shouldn’t) be Constitutional if it does — unless SCOTUS veers back right when they actually are faced with making a decision on the merits.

Ah, yes, believing the lyingest liar around.

Guarantee you what happened is that the "choice" was coerced. The woman was given no time to make the choice (remember: these assholes were saying 12 hours is a reasonable period of time), no time to contact a lawyer, and probably the form she signed was not legible to her (they have also been refusing to provide translation service).

I don't know and neither do you.

What I do know is that the administration was not giving a reasonable amount of time to make decisions nor was it providing translators or meaningful opportunity to seek counsel. So if she "chose" to take them, it was almost certainly not an informed one. And of course, she's put to a Hobson's choice if the administration says (as they surely did) "you'll never see them again."

The obviously correct thing to do was let the mom stay in the country with her citizen babies, given that she was harming nobody. But y'all are so thirsty for deportations -- it's manic. It's Lebensraum v 2.0. So of course you want to be cruel and harsh, because you fundamentally don't respect their humanity. To you, they are just "illegals."

"reasonable amount of time" and "correct thing to do" is subjective and we don't know if she spoke English.

However, I will bet the farm that the US government didn't knowingly "deport" US citizens. In fact, there is a 100% chance that we knew her kids were citizens and gave her the choice on what to do with them, so the article is, at the very least, misleading and more likely blatantly dishonest.

A 100% chance? I always thought you understood basic math but I guess not.

Edit to add: A very conservative judge in LA seems to think that citizens were deported. This was one of the anti-Biden, anti-woke Trumpists and even HE is like, "this goes too far." So do you know more of the facts than the judge hearing the case?

In Trump's cabinet meeting this morning he complained about judges thwarting his deportation efforts but I do agree with him when he said that we have to get the criminals out of our country, and in keeping with that admonition, Trump could really do the country a great service by self deporting.
