Add in going after international students which is a big money maker for schools.

At some point I'm expecting some Trump admin official to openly wonder about capping international student slots at American universities. Would fit in nicely with America First.

Trump administration cuts $4m to Princeton’s climate research funding

White House claims university’s work exposed students to ‘climate anxiety’ and ‘exaggerated climate threats’

I'm ok with this. We don't need 20 different entities studying climate change, IMO. I think that money would be better spent building infrastructure, especially for coastal cities, to address the impact of climate change.

The administration that says the climate research "promotes exaggerated and implausible climate threats, contributing to a phenomenon known as ‘climate anxiety,’" is instead going to reallocate that funding to address the impact of climate change?

$4 million won’t get you much infrastructure, but have a nice time.

Based on what? Do you have any experience in academic research or administration?
Based on what I've read about the overhead associated with these programs. The biggest thing that stood out to me was private actors in general putting a much smaller limit on the amount of the grant that could go to overhead.

Is your idea that only folks that have experience in academic research or administration get to participate in this topic?

How much infrastructure you think $4million is gonna buy?
Not much, which is why we should redirect most of the funding for studying climate change to figuring out how we're going to address the changes, i.e. rising water levels, stronger hurricanes, flooding, etc.

For example, NYC, after the flood, built giant steel doors that can be closed to prevent future flooding of the subway tunnels.
