Maybe we should discuss a cogent drug policy that would make drugs a health issue instead of a political football to justify political and legal malfeasance here and abroad. We've done the same stupid shit over and over again and basically succeeded in destroying people's lives by treating them as criminals instead of sick people and enriching drug dealers and corrupt police and politicians. Hell, even most of the damage from drugs is, since all access is illicit, because quality control and quantity control is nonexistent making drug overdoses, infections and opportunistic addiction from drugs people don't even realize they are taking damned near unavoidable.
