Who else hates scented soap?

I couldn't find the "personal rant" thread, so i'm going specific here.

I hate washing my hands with soap before a meal, then my food tasting like lilac or jasmine-honey, "white tea & sage"... etc my mom's seasonal soaps of summer breeze, pumpkin spice, and crap like that don't go well with anything edible or drinkable unless it's a pumpkin spice coffee.

Is there a hand-soap scent remover product I can market to go along with all these stinky soaps?

I suffer from an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. It is a curse.

Even so, I sometimes buy myself orange scented soap because I really like the orange oil smell from orange peels, but the soap is (a) hard to find and (b) according to most people who have tried it has very little scent.

My mom and my aunt for some reason think I love scented lotion, which I do not. But they keep buying it and I keep setting it out so they see that I have it and then other people assume I love scented lotion. Every time I get a random gift of scented bath beads or lotion or whatever, my husband gives me a look that I know he knows and is trying to make me laugh. Its far too late to tell my 70 and 80+ year old relatives the truth (and, TBF to me, I DID tell them this for decades to no a avail, like I never convinced them I do not drink or even like coffee) so I’m doomed to have a secret closet full of the stuff in addition to the display bottles.

Anyway, I get where you are coming from. Scented candles are ridiculous. A lot of the scented soaps are idiotic. But OMG perfumes, cologne and body sprays are still the worst, especially just sprayed over BO.

I don’t like scented anything. Even my deodorant is unscented. Schmidts natural.

Can tolerate only the most subtle hints of perfume on a woman. Beyond that, nope.

Was there a personal rant thread? That's a good idea.

My wife uses a soap made from goat milk, it smells so good and it's strong, I can smell it in the next room.

Maybe use a spoon to eat instead of your hand and the smell wouldn't transfer? Maybe? 😁
