why do folk like violence in sports, let's hurt the other GB?

I love sports, especially UNC sports and LOVED Dean Smith but I never wanted to see hard fouls or players hurt.

thats is a good explanation for some but others especially on TPP they seem to really want to see players hurt. I just do not understand that.

The boomers and yuppies like me were raised on violence fed through westerns, WW2 movies, Wraslin', Kung Fu, Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson and Bruce Lee ....
American pop culture found that violence helped sell soap so it remains.
Let's not even get started on the bs gun culture.
