Yep, just an abysmal call. At no point did the dook player have shared possession of the ball. Just glad we had the arrow so it ultimately didn't matter.
One of the worst calls I have ever seen.

1. At no point was it close to being a jump ball. The hands didn't even touch the ball.
2. There were multiple intentional fouls first.
3. It was the end of the game. You can't call that at that point of the game unless it is obvious.

I’ve never been a fan of the way the held ball rule is called. Refs tend to call it as soon as two players are holding the ball at once, or even right after one player rips it out of the hands of the other. I think they should wait at least a couple seconds before calling it and give the players a chance for one of them to come away with it. Call it when it becomes apparent that no player will come away with it absent a physical fight.

Just watched the game after being out earlier.

That shot to end the third quarter was just a thing of beauty. Also the women need to teach the men to shoot free throws.

We could go back to the old days when you couldn’t leap onto a player on the floor to contest possession; or, rolling over on the floor with the ball in your possession is traveling.

On a different front, why the hell do our women want to play in the Smith Center or whatever the new arena is? Carmichael is so perfect in size for them now and is very nice since the renovations. I dont get wanting crowds of 3k in an 18 or 20k arena. Even the bug games won't come close to filling the men's arena.

I was wondering the same thing - from what I read the offices and practice facilities at Carmichael are not in great shape

I don;t know
They will never get anything close to a full house and you can be dern sure they will an afterthought in scheduling practice et

It’s the offices etc. I think Banghart said she couldn’t get all her staff and players to fit in the meeting rooms

They’ve shot them much better recently, but the women have 2 losses that are heavily attributed to shitty free throw shooting

When they did the renovations in 2008, did they renovate everything or just the sports venue portion?

Because if it's the latter, I can understand why they might want to be elsewhere. It's got to be frustrating to see another team getting the finest things and to not have similar things nearly that nice.

I agree that Carmichael is the perfect size for the women's team (with the possible exceptions of the State and dook games), but I can also understand why folks wouldn't want to feel like they're receiving "second best" facilities when other teams are getting the best.
