I didn't deserve to get it in 3, but I'd rather be lucky than good. Usually my starting word is great but obviously was horrific today.

My starting word has "A" and "I" with some common consonants - and if no hits, then I try another word with "O-U-E" in it to cover the rest of the vowels. If no hits, then I try a word with a "Y" with a double-consonant or vowel because it's almost always the case if the first two cases don't hit. Might not be the best strategy but most times it seems to work pretty well and I can get it in 3 or 4 tries.
