Wordle thread

I like SLATE. Two vowels, S, T, and L are pretty used letters.

For a while I used ADIEU, to find vowels, but I didn't fare too well.

I've used ARISE forever. My streak is currently approaching 700.

The vowel combination in today’s puzzle always creates problems for me. Not because I can’t spell, it just seems to be the last option I think of.

I think the Wordlebot can be full of shit. I start with LEAST, the bot starts with PLATE and tells me his word is more efficient. How in hell is it more important (or efficient) to determine the disposition of P (the 15th most common word used in Wordle) than to determine whether or not S (#8) is used? Is it more important to know if E is the last letter in the word? (if so, I still think STALE is better starting word than PLATE.)

The worldle bot is interesting because it is designed to maximize the number of possible words eliminated with each guess and not necessarily the most likely word.

I didn't get the hint, so I started with my normal starting word. When I entered word 4 it hit me.

This was what the Wordlebot told me today after my third guess, “XXXXX left only one possible solution. You’ve narrowed it down to one possible solution. You should solve the puzzle on your next turn.”

Then after my fourth guess, it told me, “There was only one possible solution left — and this wasn’t it. (XXXXX is a valid guess, but it’s unlikely to be a solution based on what I’ve learned from playing Wordle.) But there’s still only one solution remaining. You should solve the puzzle on your next turn.”

The Wordlebot is annoying!

I suspected the actual solution after my second guess but thought it was not the best guess in terms of eliminating other possibilities. Oh well.
