I think it is nearly impossible to get a cookie for the hard mode. It takes me at least 30 seconds at the start to review the board.

Agreed, I don't believe I've ever had one.

They should give a cookie for having three good times.

Interesting Connections today (I thought). Got the green and the blue first (no mistakes) and was determined to get the purple next and the yellow last. Pondered for a minute trying to make any connection at all, then when I did make one (and shortly thereafter, with a slight nod and pursing of the lips and catlike narrowing of the eyelids, I fathomed the other one), I had to decide: Which of these two connections do the puzzle's makers bellieve I will think is the most obvious and which the most tenuous? I really couldn't decide. They both (obviously) were less obvious to me than the blue or the green, and in no wise could I say which of these two groups was more obviously "connected" than the other. I went with my first guess as the more obscure, but alas, that was the yellow group (duh!). Still, a mildly amusing way to while away a few minutes of my morning and distract me from this blasted HVAC on the fritz...

At first the hard level today was a puzzle I thought I was going to solve in like 90 seconds but realized with last two tiles left I had made an error somewhere. Debugging my error like that is always a time suck.
