I do that now. Go to bed thinking about all the things I still need to get done. I've awoke so many times thinking that I was late on an approval or authoring a document. That's sort of the point of salaried positions, they expect you to always work or at least be thinking about work.![]()
Most of my working career has been in the corporate ranks. Definitely plenty of sleepless nights from work-related stress and stuff you needed to get done.
But man, I'm still haunted by the bad sleep of when I owned my own business...night worried about making payroll, about paying rent, about losing three days of sales to power outages, or that time we had a plumbing leak and flooded the store beneath us (a jewelry store). That was a fun call at 6 AM.
