And I doubt that most, if any, college football stadiums would work. I doubt any of them have the amenities that FIFA would want and that NFL/MLS stadiums have.
Yeah but Trump doesn’t know that. He’s probably expecting an SEC/FIFA tour that swings from Gainesville to Starkville and up to Knoxville. Because if it’s one thing that southerners like, it’s international soccer.

During the Atlanta games I went to an Olympic soccer match (USA vs Argentina if I remember correctly) in Birmingham. Looks like it was held at Legion Field which has a capacity of over 80,000.

I was supposed to be one of the kids who held a big flag before the match but I would’ve had to be there by myself in the Alabama summer heat all day long at 7 years old so either I or my parents decided not to do that part.

I don’t think OKC has a stadium that can host World Cup games.
No, there is no large American football stadium in the city.

If they wanted to do it in Norman the stadium would need a major renovation.

For starters, the stadium has an absurdly small sideline so I am not even sure a soccer field would fit and definitely not the FIFA mandated area outside the pitch.

Also most of the stadium is bench seating which doesn’t meet FIFA standards.

I could actually see this happening. I don't think you can move the Olympics all that easily but moving a soccer game to Dallas or something would be doable. You're going to upset an awful lot of people that bought tickets and reserved hotel rooms and flights plus the locals who were expecting a windfall, but I would guess that US soccer fans skew a little more liberal. I might be wrong.

So maybe sticking it to the liberals for really no reason. His base loves that. And he'll do it in a state and a district where Republicans have no shot of winning in the midterms.

Real Football is my favorite sport and after experiencing the WC both here and over in Europe, I can confidently say, the US doesn't deserve the WC anyway.

And Qatar did?

Hosting the World Cup is about money, nothing else.
Of course it is but that wasn't what I was talking about. I was talking about experience because of the fan atmosphere.

We don't deserve it because our fans suck bc they don't give a single shit about real football unless it's their kid playing in overpriced travel leagues

I can't imagine the foreign fanbase is going to show up at the WC or Olympics at the levels projected when either was awarded.

The last time that the WC was in the US (94), is still the highest total attendance despite the tournament expanding the number of games from 52 to 64. The per match average attendance is 25% higher than the next closest WC @69k per game vs 53k at next closest.

Until last year for the Paris Olympics, the record for Summer Olympics attendance was Atlanta in 1996.

The Trump crackdown on non-white people has to make the organizers of both the WC and the Olympics cringe in fear over attendance.
