World Cup is screwed

I pray every day that this event is an absolute disaster that is boycotted by most nations. I hope that anyone games which are played occur in stadiums that are 1/4 full with tickets at giveaway prices.

Hopefully on the 28 Olympics. The initial ticket sales were at outrageous amounts for even the least popular events. I'd like to buy some tickets at a normal price.
 
I have two clashing opinions on all this.

The price tickets are insanely expensive which is a huge turnoff for most fans. There will be some games in group play with sparse crowds.

There is an ongoing battle by event organizers to try and retain a bigger share of the value from ticket sales as opposed to ticket resellers. I'm not sure raising ticket prices that much is the right solution.

Truth.

He also doesn't understand pride. Italy is too proud to slink into the WC like a small Oceania country. Can you imagine if the US didn't qualify for the Olympics in mens' basketball? Would there be many ballers in our country ready to take some freebie? I'm pretty sure we'd think accepting an invite like that would diminish us.

They were a powerhouse. Brazil has won five world cups, the most of any Nation, but Germany and Italy both have four. But the Italians have missed the last three world cups. They got knocked out most recently by Bosnia who on paper is vastly inferior.

Italy does produce good players although this generation is down from their norm. The knock on them is they don't let enough immigrants with dual citizenship play on their national team like other European clubs, their national club League, Series A, relies too much on foreign players so their homegrown talent doesn't get enough development, and the owners of the series A teams won't release the players to practice for the national team together enough.
