This 36% are people who (a) think Robinson did post those things, (b) agree with what Robinson posted, and (c) wish there were more politicians like Robinson who tell it like they think.
Nah, I think it is likely people who (a)probably believe he posted that stuff but (b) just don't care. The EndIn re Robinson with 36% of Vote: This 36% are not people who think CNN is lying. This 36% are people who (a) think Robinson did post those things, (b) agree with what Robinson posted, and (c) wish there were more politicians like Robinson who tell it like they think.
You are probably right. But is this Menendez and Adams running against Trump or Mitt Romney. Against Trump absolutely. I’d take pause if they ran against Romney. Or maybe I’d not vote in Pres race. This is really a toxic comment. It's needlessly insulting and antagonistic and also based on nothing. Yeah, there are probably some folks like that but doubtful that it's 36%.
It can't be said enough: every election in a two-party race is, to some degree, a lesser of two evils. And if you think the Dems are really evil (let's say, because of abortion), you're going to pull GOP every time.
I mean, suppose the Dems ran a ticket of Eric Adams and Bob Menendez, with a campaign slogan of "looking forward to presidential immunity!" I'd still vote for them over Trump, and so would you. Because, as corrupt as they are, they will still appoint non-crazy judges. They will still put a liberal at EPA, someone actually interested in protecting the environment. They probably won't crack down on crypto (I've long been suspicious of Adams' fondness for bitcoin; it was a yellow flag indicating possible criminal impulses), but they would likely help unions, pass abortion legislation, etc.
Either one. A Romney presidency in 2016 wouldn't have been that different from Trump's first term. Less daily crazy, for sure. No attempt to undermine NATO. But Romney would have appointed the same judges (maybe he would have held off on the mega-crazies in Texas, but I'd bet 95% of his appointments would be similar). Romney would have put an industry lobbyist in charge of the SEC, like Bush, and the EPA, like Trump. The tax cuts would have been the same. With Romney in charge, they might have actually been able to repeal Obamacare (and yes, Romney would have participated despite his history in MA).You are probably right. But is this Menendez and Adams running against Trump or Mitt Romney. Against Trump absolutely. I’d take pause if they ran against Romney. Or maybe I’d not vote in Pres race.
My experience is that many republicans aren’t even aware of the allegations. It barely got a mention on Fox News and I’ve literally had to explain the talking points to more than one Trump supporter. od argue that many of that 36% have no idea what he’s accused of.The 36% is
- Folks that know what he said and dont care
- Folks that only know he's R and have no idea what he's said (recently or ever)
Conservatives have been working hard for the past fifty years, ever since public schools were integrated, to gradually create a separate reality for themselves. Resegregate schools by sending mostly upper and middle class white kids to charters and private schools via transferring public school funds to vouchers and charters, create a separate right-wing news media and websites that tell them only what they want to hear and allow them to live in an information bubble, "retro" TV networks that only show old TV series reruns, right-wing book publishers, "Christian" universities like Liberty, Regent, Grand Canyon, Hillsdale College, etc. to give their kids a religious-only education, and gradual takeovers of public ed in many red states to force religious instruction into their curriculum, and on and on. And so many conservatives only hear and see exactly what their leaders want them to.I think a lot of you would be shocked at how many of the rural evangelical crowd think the whole thing is actually made up. That's likely 10-15% of the 36 at least.
Exactly. And the whole MAGA movement is about taking America back for the straight, white Christian nationalists so the whole country can be like that.Conservatives have been working hard for the past fifty years, ever since public schools were integrated, to gradually create a separate reality for themselves. This is why I get frustrated when people say Dems just need to “message better” when it comes to winning over certain segments of voters. My experience is that many republicans aren’t even aware of the allegations.
