I got nothing on that. Is it supposed to sound like "kama-blah"? Because there should be an H at the end. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense. There's no humor or irony or anything. It's just literally gibberish, I guess?

The devolution from Meatball Ron (my personal fave), Sleepy Joe, and Let's Go Brandon to kamabla..... Weak. Tired. Lazy. Impotent, even. A real D-minus effort here. You love to see it.
It's a Trump typo they are trying to sharpie into an Alabama hurricane strike.

yup came from his unhinged online rant about Biden parachuting into the Dem convention and taking the nomination by force or something
He's writing election fanfiction in which he's the protagonist.

He clearly isn't happy with reality and is escaping into comfortable fantasy. Which is definitely a characteristic you want in a world leader.

I think it was always inevitable after the party unconditionally surrendered to Trump in 2016 – remember Lindsey Graham saying that if the GOP nominated Trump that it would get destroyed and deservedly so? – but it has still been really remarkable to see the complete and total collapse of GOP policy on almost everything from immigration, to foreign policy, and everything in between.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to be the party of law and order, but then they nominated a convicted felon who openly announces his intent to pardon all of the other convicted felons who were put behind bars for beating the shit out of “the blue” on January 6.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to be the party of support the troops, but then they nominated a guy who disparaged prisoners of war, Gold Star and Purple Heart families, called American soldiers “suckers and losers” forgiving their lives on the battlefield in defense of our freedom, and refused to go to the American cemetery at Normandy on a day that it was raining because it would mess up his hair.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to be the party that talked the talk and walked the walk on being tough on Russia, but now they nominated a guy who openly performs fellatio on Vladimir Putin in front of the entire world.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to advocate for supporting our democratic allies abroad through military and financial aid, but now they have nominated a ticket that expresses an open desire to surrender Ukraine to the Russians.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to be the party of strong border security, but now they have nominated a guy who openly bragged that he single-handedly torpedoed the strongest by bipartisan immigration reform and border security legislation in decades.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to be the party of individual responsibility and pull yourself up by the bootstraps, but now they have nominated a guy who has never taken personal responsibility or been held accountable for anything which he has ever done in his life yet still whines and cries and complains that he has been treated more unfairly than anyone in American history.

It used to be that you could count on the GOP to be the party of personal freedoms, but now the entire party wants the government to get all up in your wife or your girlfriend’s or your daughter’s vagina, or hang out in your bedroom while you have sex with another consenting adult of your choice.

I can’t think of anything more humiliating or embarrassing than to be a Republican trying to argue with a straight face that the current Republican Party is anything remotely resembling a classically conservative movement with classically conservative policy aims and goals.
I posted this on another thread, but I think it fits more perfectly here. @HY2012: Any thoughts?

Unfortunately for the old guard GOP, their political brand “Republican” has been co-opted and lost down the Trumpian rabbit hole for good and forever. If history was going to be fair, then the likes of Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney, John Kasich, Michael Steele, Jeb Bush, John Boehner, George Will, all the folks in the Lincoln Project, all the folks with the Republicans for Harris team would be able to wrest control of their name and brand “GOP” and “Republican” from the Maga usurpers. But I’m afraid that’s NOT going to happen.

What’s left for these Lincoln Project folks? What new party brand name can they muster under? Libertarian? Start an entirely new political party?
Or continue to fight back against the MTGs and trump sycophants and take back their party and it’s name?

I think each of those people probably have their own reason for hating Trump. For some it’s because they truly have a moral objection to him (Kasich, Romney). For others it’s because he swooped in and took the Republican Party by storm when it was “their turn” (Jeb, Liz Cheney). For others, they just enjoy performative theatrics and being the martyr (Kinzinger)

I have no idea what will happen to the old Republican Party from here. A lot probably depends on whether Trump is successful this year or not. I’m not sure all the new voters Trump has energized are ever going to support someone like Liz Cheney.

MAGA candidate for Missouri Secretary of State. She lost her Primary tonight.

The tweet isn’t deleted but is limited due to “hateful conduct.” I guess that’s why it can’t be embedded. Click if you wish to find out why.

she's been doing this for months now. posted a video a while back ranting about "don't be weak and gay."

the GOP, ladies and gents!

I’ve actually said on the ZZLP many times that I can’t vote for Democrats at the national level because national politics are just different than state or local politics.

I am way more voting “against” generic national Democratic agenda than I am “for” Donald Trump or Tom Tillis or whoever else. I’m not even voting “against” Joe Biden or Kamala Harris specifically. It’s a system I’m voting against, not a candidate.

Cooper/Trump/Tillis was my ticket in 2020 and I will be casting similar tickets for the foreseeable future.
I have no issue with your views. They are what they are. But like I’ve told some of my acquaintances who are supporting Trump, by making that choice you lose all right to say that morality is important to you. You can’t make the case that Biden (and now Kamala) is an immoral person when you are going to vote for a person who is a convicted felon, had sex with a porn star while cheating on his THIRD wife, who lies incessantly. Just be honest and say the unspoken parts out loud, so we all recognize what you really mean.

you and Trump do see the world the same way.

I'm starting to believe and I think I'm about 2 weeks away from being, "Heck yeah, she's got this!"

I think the last big hurdle is the DNC in two weeks. If that all goes successfully, I think the momentum, energy, excitement, enthusiasm, and participation on the Democratic side will make it her election to lose. In retrospect it may well turn out to be that the very worst thing that could’ve happened to the GOP, happened on June 27.

This is going to so piss him off.
But it’s because of all the entertainers she had at the event. That’s who the crowd was really there to see.

Wait…, what? There WEREN’T any entertainers at this event? Then it must’ve been SHAPIRO who drove the attendance, as the audience must’ve thought he would be upset at Kamala for not picking him and cause a scene.

Wait…, what?? THAT didn’t happen???

They are really bad at this...

Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain
With the rain in Shambala
Wash away my sorrow, wash away my shame
With the rain in Shambala

Ah, ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ah, ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Everyone is helpful, everyone is kind
On the road to Shambala
Everyone is lucky, everyone is so kind
On the road to Shambala

Yeah, for a campaign that is suddenly all about joy, give them one of the most joyful songs ever written to hang their hat on. Master strategists at work.
B W Stevenson died way too young.

I would never try to make the appeal that Trump is a “moral” guy. I think he’s an asshole.

But my vote is also me picking who I think will do the best job, and the only way morality would come into my vote is if I thought one side was moral and there other immoral. I generally find both sides of politicians to be immoral.

I don’t think it’s moral to defend rioters and looters. I don’t think it’s moral to prosecute your political opponents. I don’t think it’s moral to define everything based on race and gender. I don’t think it’s moral to let the fascist/threat to democracy narrative with Trump get so out of control that you said we need to put a bullseye on him and a week later there was an assassination attempt on his life. I don’t think it’s moral to say “you ain’t black if you don’t vote for me”. I don’t think it’s moral to tell children they can choose their gender. I don’t think it’s moral to support equity over equality. I don’t think it’s moral to tell the country the president is fine mentally and keep the charade up until half the country is “shocked” when it’s revealed on national television that he’s a vegetable.

And so on and so forth. Does that answer your question?

VP Harris will have it on January 20, 2025 when she says "So help me God." The amount of deceit, trickery, theft, and outright criminal activity that is going to have to be overcome between now and then on behalf of Donald J. Trump will be without precedent in the United States. The question is whether we as a people will stand behind and support the Great American Experiment or will we stand by and let that Experiment be tossed into the dustbin of history?
