I'm nervous about the turnout and "obvious" winner.

Then i'm nervous about the technical winner after lawsuits and SCOTUS and Georgia/PA. Barton Gellman and co claim the system is more hardened, but there are some tricky fvcks in the right-wing who live, breath and die for political manipulation, and traditionally they're good at it.

Then i'm nervous about lone-wolf violent retaliation. There are people living in bubbles that are being primed for a freak-out if she wins.

The "guy that killed Bin Laden" thing is the tweet that is being quoted at the bottom there. Some young guy posted a picture of himself and his friends with the caption "We’re Gen Z voters and we all PROUDLY voted for Kamala Harris! Real men support Harris" and the (Trump-supporting) Seal Team Six guy (Robert O'Neill) posted "You're not men. You're buys. If there was no social media you would be my concubines." Many people have pointed out that this is a deeply weird tweet that implies that this supposedly macho dude wants to use young men as sex slaves.

Does Mecklenburg have a more mobile, transient population than the rest of North Carolina?

It’s anecdotal, but I know numerous recent UNC alums whose first jobs were in Charlotte. They wanted to be in NYC or DC or Miami or London. At the first opportunity, they left Charlotte.

Are some still on the voter rolls in Mecklenburg and they’ve moved elsewhere?

Yes, but his prediction was not exactly on solid grounds. I saw that as "eh, coin flip, I'll choose Kamala because Dems typically get it done."

For my part, I just don't care about Nevada much. I don't think it's going to be the tipping point state for us, or even necessary to the coalition. It really only comes into play if Kamala loses PA but wins either GA or NC. That seems an unlikely combo with the information we have.
 
Serious question. Why am I STILL getting texts asking for money? The ones I've gotten the last few days aren't from the Harris/Watz campaign. But hasn't TV time been bought, fliers printed, volunteers recruited, etc. I just got this one, and I'm annoyed by the content:

(damn it) Kamala will LOSE in Pa. if we can't afford our voter turnout teams! Rush $20 Blah blah blah and we'll TRIPLE it.

What does that even mean?

There are still ongoing turnout and phone banking efforts. Still ad buys being made, probably. And importantly, resources are likely to be needed for post-election day legal fights.

Campaigns borrow money. THey need to earn the capital to pay the loans back.

Yes but all that stuff is purchased on credit. Plus, a lot of organizations like to bank funds for the future.

OK. Got it. That all makes sense, and I guess I knew it. Just seems like there's a better way to phrase than "Damn it. Kamala will LOSE!"

I saw him on MSNBC and he was about as hedged as a man can be, said it’s a true toss up and he’s just throwing the dice in Kamala’s direction.
