Or, “I’m not Trump’s wife. I won’t let him lie to me. And I definitely won’t let him lie about me.”If I were Kamala, every time Trump made some dubious claim about my intentions should I win office, I would always counter with a press release titled:
"Another lie from the lying weirdo. Here's the truth:"
Trump would have a flipping meltdown.
yeah and "weird" is an easy, normal descriptor that we've all used and will continue to use in regular daily conversation to describe right wing policy unlike the "grave threat to our democracy" stuff that was coming out of the Biden camp that i think makes undecided's eyes glaze over and/or roll a bit, unfortunately. The more I think about it, the “weird” tag is catching on because it has truth to it but I think also because it is not as harsh as the Biden attacks. Weird is something you can play with, it is something you don’t want in a leader but it is not apocalyptic. These dudes are just weird. Like avoid them on the Subway but not call the cops dangerous.
It lowers the temperature but still calls out the policies and behavior.

I think it's more that it's relatable and unrebuttable. Is Trump an existential threat to democracy? Well, liberals say he is, he and conservatives say he isn't, who to believe? It requires thought to figure out who is correct, and that process is subject to strong confirmation bias. If you want to like Trump, you can do what the mouthbreathers on the other board do: deny and accuse liberals of being hysterical. The more I think about it, the “weird” tag is catching on because it has truth to it but I think also because it is not as harsh as the Biden attacks.
