Ugh. I know money isn't limitless but I wish the powers to be spent a bit more on negative advertising about Morrow. I feel like she would be easy to tie to Robinson but that they just didn't make a decent effort to do so.
Honestly, I have seen more tv ads about the NC Superintendent of Public Instruction in the last two weeks than I have over the course of my life in all prior elections living in NC. And most of the negative about Morrow. It is still a tiny fraction of total political ads this cycle for sure but it ain’t nothing in a race that rarely ever breaks through as a key race in NC.

For what it’s worth, I know loads of people around the world - personally, from having lived abroad for 7 years - who are wanting to see Kamala win. They’re pulling for her, and most definitely do not want to see trump anymore.

Friends and colleagues in: England, Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Spain, France, Australia and Tasmania… men and women alike… all, everyone looking forward to the same outcome as we are.

The Free World is with us.

The squirrel thing: some online-famous (male) OnlyFans model had an illegal pet squirrel; someone called the cops, and they apparently took it and euthanized it. Because this happened in NY, conservatives have rallied around it as the epitome of liberal governmental tyranny and Elon posted about it almost non-stop yesterday (including with AI-generated images of a squirrel with, like, a machine gun and tactical gear).

the Ann Selzer thing: I'm sure it has to do with the Iowa poll, but not sure how that became a hit with the gay community specifically

The "guy that killed Bin Laden" thing is the tweet that is being quoted at the bottom there. Some young guy posted a picture of himself and his friends with the caption "We’re Gen Z voters and we all PROUDLY voted for Kamala Harris! Real men support Harris" and the (Trump-supporting) Seal Team Six guy (Robert O'Neill) posted "You're not men. You're buys. If there was no social media you would be my concubines." Many people have pointed out that this is a deeply weird tweet that implies that this supposedly macho dude wants to use young men as sex slaves.
I took a few minutes to look at that dude’s Twitter timeline. Yeesh.
Thanks for taking on bin Laden and all, but…

Just got in from setting up the Dem booth at the local precinct. Looking good out there. Keep the faith no matter what happens today. A little Kipling seems appropriate for today:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
I applaud the vibe here but whether we walk with Kings, today it’s the Queens who will lead us.

In 2020, we were warned that election night would lean to Trump, but because mail-in votes hadn’t been counted yet in some states.
Is the same thing expected this year, or was just that a COVID-era thing?

In PA it is correct

Well, it's over. Trump is winning.

Thailand’s viral baby hippo Moo Deng predicts Donald Trump will win 2024 US presidential election
The sad part is there are probably hundreds of people who will change their vote to Trump because of this. Americans are that stupid.

Who Is Favored To Win The 2024 Presidential Election?
538 uses polling, economic and demographic data to explore likely election outcomes.

That's a pretty big parlay. They have to read it. They have to believe it. They have to be registered. They have to be willing to go out and vote and they have to have not already voted. I think I can avoid getting concerned about this one.

Random tidbit to provide a small ray of hope, my brother went shrimping in SC this past weekend with his two life-long best friends. They are hardcore republicans and have voted R their entire lives. My brother's plan was to not even bring up politics because he assumed they were voting Trump, he was wrong. Apparently they pulled the lever for Harris and "can't stand what Trump has done to this country". May there be another 5 million like them.

It is expected to a certain extent (Trump leads in polling among those who haven’t voted yet) but nobody thinks the red margins will be as large because so many GOP voters have voted early compared to 2020 and mail-in voting has declined significantly in most states that are not primarily mail vote states.

But another complicating factor is substantial changes in registration that no one understands just yet — swing states have seen a surge in GOP and unaffiliated registrations, and we won’t really know what that means until we get election results. It is making it very hard to guess how early voters are voting.

On a side note, when did election day become Super Bowl Sunday on steroids? CNN started election day coverage at 5am my time and is running it continuously, all day. WTF?
