2026 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament

Honestly, I don't see what there is to dislike about Scheyer. Outside of the court storming thing, he hasn't done anything that annoys me. Honestly, I would be more annoyed with him as a Duke fan. If they spend what some folks on here act like they spend, they should be competing for the NBA Finals and he hasn't won shit at Duke yet.
Spend?
I dont spend shit.
And as for winning shit - I mean I guess you think ONLY national championships matter and everything else is a horrible failure? I mean sure by those standards, he's pathetic (as are 99% of the NCAA coaches, currently). But give he's 4 years in, he's definitely doing better than I ever could have imagined, following up the all-time wins leader. I thought there would be a big drop off.

I dunno man. In the last three years they're 91-15 with two ACC regular season titles, an ACCT championship, an elite 8, a final four, and they're likely the top overall seed in the NCAAT this year. I get that the ultimate goal is to win a national title but they've done everything but recently. I'd love to have the success they're having at UNC.
I agree .

We also have a FF, a sweet 16, and a regular season ACC championship with CHD, but Scheyer took over a stronger program than CHD did.
Let's face it. dook** has a better brand with the DSPN promotion, the millions upon millions of NIL to attract the very top talent, and the legacy of litre k marketing dook** as the pathway to being at dook** for a semester and then nailing an NBA lottery pick at the end of the season.

I would be interested to get the opinion of our dook** fan's feedback on what it's like to see a new team shipped in each year. I'm an old UNC codger who enjoyed seeing the players over their 3-4 yr career... how they developed and improved and became a part of the Carolina family. Do dook** fans have that fond affinity for your semester hood one and done players ?

Compare the 25 vs. 26 rosters for UNC and Duke. Which one is doing a better job at retaining players?

I think you missed the context of my post. It had nothing to do with your post comparing retaining rosters in the last two years which I did compare, but I would welcome your comparison.

As a player, he was extremely unlikeable, so that carries over for me.

Stopped sports betting 10 years ago but have been tracking ACCT sides for fun/curiosity

Seems like a lot of obvious sides this year factoring little else but recent form

L Stanford -4.5 vs Pitt
W SMU -4.5 vs Syracuse
L Virginia Tech -1.5 vs Wake
W NCST -7.5 vs Pitt
W SMU +8.5 vs Louisville
W FSU -2 vs Cal
W Clemson -5.5 vs Wake
W Virginia -5 vs NCST
TBD Miami +2.5 vs Louisville
TBD Florida St +18.5 vs Duke
TBD UNC +1.5 vs Clemson

And again...if they spend what folks around here believe they do, that is MASSIVE underachievement.

"They" is Duke in this context. Don't be a defensive dipshit. There are plenty of folks on here who are genuine assholes about Duke in every possible way. I am not one of them.

And in case you have not noticed, I am on record as saying that I don't believe the spending gap is nearly as large as some make it out to be.

Maybe, just MAYBE, my comment wasn't a swipe at Duke but rather some reflective commentary on what our own fans around here routinely spout as fact....i.e. that Duke has a payroll to rival the New York Knicks.

Do only the OGs remember the faces?

Back in the day, there was a long thread on the Maryland boards of people photoshopping Scheyerfaces. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on the internet. The best, imo, was his face photoshopped into Guernica.

I've asked ChatGPT to locate the images in a "deep archaeological search." If it can find those images, AI will be worth it for sure

I didnt think you were being any sort of way, so I wasn't actually being defensive at all. I am a dipshit though.

But my point was actually I dont care what they spend as long as it's not my money :) I mean I think all the money in sports is absolutely STUPID and a terrible commentary of our values as a society. But yeah it's not my money...I sure wouldnt give to NIL stuff other than maybe buying a shirt or something that I actually like. But to pay a player millions to play a game when they already get free tuition? Heck no.
