Most hoops, football, and baseball coaches are white males. It’s not a leap to assume a white male is MAGA, unless you’re at a major research university or liberal arts college at a Faculty meeting. Or, at a Friends Meeting.
Thankfully not the ones at Boshamer. Rifle toting, hunting, country music listening country boys who all think Donald Trump is a pile of shit.

Good point. I'm a young X. Specifically an Xennial or whatever. So we are definitely different than those from the early generation.
Yes, i was born in 78 and there is a pretty dramatic difference in my cohort as compared to those born a decade before.

It's been documented that most MLB players/coaches are Pubs if not full tilt maga.
I'd be surprised if they weren't. Demographically, Major League baseball is obviously all men. They are 60% White, 30% Hispanic, and about 8% black. I think a lot of industries with those kind of numbers are going to skew Republican.

Eta. Here's an article from two days ago which I am hoping is not buried somewhere in this thread. They looked at voter registrations of various pro League members. Doesn't include foreign-born as they aren't eligible to vote.

Breaks down pretty much how you might expect. Most Republican league is the NHL followed by Major League baseball. Most democratic league is the WNBA followed by the nba. NFL somewhere in the middle but leans democrat.

Believe the link actually suggests that the MLB is most "Republican" and NHL is second. And presumably that would only be the American NHL players as Canadian players are obviously not registered to vote here (and probably skew at least a little more liberal).

You're absolutely right. I misread it. MLB were the most republicans. NHL next. NHL did have the most unaffiliated voters followed by the nfl.

It is definitely noted in the article that it's only US citizens as the study was only of us voter affiliation.

Question, tho’, is if they vote (and they’re 17-24 year-old males; it’s likely they don’t vote), do they vote as HeelYeah2012 does for Congress, Senate, and the Legislature? Republican.

Cuz those elected Republicans are backing MAGA 100%.

OP was talking about the coaches, not the players. Scott Jackson, I believe, is a registered Dem who took a demotion to come here from Liberty - there's nothing to confirm it, but both the optics and some rumors suggest that he just couldn't stand being at Liberty anymore. It's not the biggest stretch to imagine that the men that he chose to join after that choice would lean the same way.

Just saw an interview with Janet Mills on MSNOW. She is kind of unlikeable. Felt like she was on a campaign script and over acting every line of it.

You’re correct. Thanks for correcting me.

Yep. Our coaching staff in baseball is a damned fine group of people.

The deeply concerned and troubled Senator from Maine is feeling a bit more concerned about her re-election in light of the continuing ICE murders. It would not shock me if she decided not to run for re-election.
