My husband and I are older Xers. Our view is that Gen X is two pretty distinct sub-generations — (x) the olds who were born in the 60s/remember being a kid in the 70s and the younger ones who more recall being kids in the 80s. Whether that has a political break between the two, I don’t know. Our impression has been that the older cohort skews more libertarian than the younger cohort, regardless of the overall left/right tilt otherwise. I think the moderate & conservative libertarians in the older cohort have definitely flocked to MAGA.
I have memories from the 1970s, but I’m 100% a child of the 80s.

“… Vindman will face off against a crowded field of 10 other candidates in the August Democratic primary. The November special election will be held to determine who will serve out the rest of Rubio’s term, which ends in 2029.

Florida has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since 2012…”

People who complain need to SHOW UP to vote!!! There are more registered democrats than GOP, but they have to show up and vote. If they had, Trump wouldn’t be in office

The youth vote is always awful.

No excuses, …..VOTE!!

Remember when our dipshit dumbfuck board Pubs were crowing about some major political realignment with the GOP becoming some big tent multi ethnic coalition? Lolololol

The old blue wall is no longer enough. Dems will need to consistently win in GA, AZ and NV. Maybe NC as well. TX would be the tipping point if it could ever be flipped.
Makes it harder in the House too. With their gerrymandered state governments, I don't see them handing these new seats to the Democrats

Yeah, at a minimum, it needs to be either both NC and GA, or a combination of one of those states + AZ + NV
AZ + GA + NC + NV = 49 EC votes
AZ + GA + NV = 33
AZ + NC + NV = 33
GA + NC = 32

That new map is a calamity. We need to do a lot of things in 2028 to mitigate the effects. For one thing outlaw gerrymandering. Of course I'm advocating more radical structural change, but at a minimum we need to fix supreme court and gerrymandering.
