3/14-3/16 Severe Weather Threat

Well that wasn't bad, thankfully. Some light to moderate rain, very little wind.

Apparently more may come later but that was a relief
 
First chance for Trump's FEMA to show it's mettle.
Nah, that was the severe flooding in Kentucky around Valentines Day — over 14 inches of rain resulted in severe flooding that killed 21 people.

Gov Beshear requested a disaster declaration before the disaster was complete and Trump approved it pretty quickly.

Some Republicans in Kentucky have used it as a reason to demand defunding FEMA and direct funding states instead ( Some Kentucky Republicans echo Trump's complaints about FEMA after latest flood • Kentucky Lantern ) but overall Republicans who were outraged by how FEMA works under Biden have kept quiet about the Kentucky response.

“…. Beshear said the state was waiting on the Trump administration to approve a days-old request for an Expedited Major Disaster Declaration, which has bipartisan support from Kentucky’s entire congressional delegation.
The governor warned the "clock's really ticking" as Kentucky families were seemingly waiting on a signature to get help for immediate needs and cleaning supplies.

Hours later, Beshear said the request was approved to help those in the first 10 counties affected by flooding including Breathitt, Clay, Harlan, Knott, Lee, Letcher, Martin, Owsley, Perry and Pike counties. …”
