Eh, I dunno. That's far lower than the percentage of the population who believe Trump's "Big Lie" that the 2020 election was stolen from him. So remember we're starting from the baseline that something like a quarter to a third of Americans are gullible idiots.I'll be honest.... 17% saying it's inappropriate isn't as reassuring as you might think. That's close to 1/5 people.
Rage-baiting and grifting off of people like ramrouser is like taking candy from a quadriplegic baby.I'm sure ramrouser and Co. will be indignant that, as usual, they were manipulated into caring about this issue by a group of hyper-online, culture-war grifters.
LOL who am I kidding.
No, it’s closer to 1 out of 6 people than it is to 1 out of 5. And you think 1 out of 6 liberals giving a shit about this equates to a massive outcry?I'll be honest.... 17% saying it's inappropriate isn't as reassuring as you might think. That's too close to 1/5 people.
It was 1 out of 6 total. The liberals were about 1 out of 3.No, it’s closer to 1 out of 6 people than it is to 1 out of 5. And you think 1 out of 6 liberals giving a shit about this equates to a massive outcry?
Why don’t you just admit that you got duped by right wing media… again?
I think those situations are different. Believing the Big Lie is more about being intellectually lazy and falling victim to social media/confirmation bias.Eh, I dunno. Eh - maybe, though I do think there's probably some "social media/confirmation bias" at work here too. If you spend all your time on, like, woke progressive TikTok, that's going to affect you and how you see the world. You start looking for problems that aren't really there. Like the old saw that when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.I think those situations are different. Having an issue with the AE commercial is more about principles and personal beliefs.
There is almost no subject that won’t get at least 17% positive responses. Is the earth flat? Do vaccines cause autism? Is Bill Gates part of the Illuminati? Is th earth 6,000 years old? Give me just about any poll question and I’ll get you 17%.Eh - maybe, though I do think there's probably some "social media/confirmation bias" at work here too. But back to the main point - I really don't think that 17% is particularly surprising or worrisome. If you poll Americans on all sorts of things, you would get some pretty deranged looking results depending on how you asked the questions. And whatever the cause the fact that 30% or so of people believe the "Big Lie" is a much bigger danger sign (and a much bigger problem) than what people see in a jeans ad.
I'd be curious to know how these results compare with countries in the EU.
EU doesn’t allow people to “do their own research.”I'd be curious to know how these results compare with countries in the EU.
EU residents who do their own research don’t conclude the ignorant, stupid bullshit Americans do.EU doesn’t allow people to “do their own research.”
