America's Reichstag fire??? (ICE, Nat’l Guard & Military in LA)

It's sorta crazy to me that the people in masks with assault weapons disappearing people into unmarked vehicles are supposed to be the good guys in this scenario.

Like. Is this what they want?
Quite the contrast with the outrage (and the comparatively soft circumstances) over the Elian Gonzalez situation.

Trump claims LA "would be burning to the ground" if he didn't send National Guard

"...The protests are largely concentrated to a portion of downtown LA, with much of the city continuing to function as normal. ..."
The national guard that stayed within 5 ft of the federal building on Spring St? Or the National Guard that defended the federal building in Westwood that wasn’t within 15 miles of any protest?

Sadly, Trump’s message is intended for the rubes who live in Paducah and Buckhead, not those of you who actually know what’s going on because you live in the places Trump constantly lies about.

“… “To do this in militaristic gear in L.A. is intended to notch up the image of deportations being in high gear,” said Muzaffar Chishti, senior fellow at the Migration Policy Institute. “But the actual deportations are paltry compared with the imagery.”

… The administration’s immigration enforcement is a sharp break with past government practices, according to attorneys, immigration advocates and officials from previous administrations.

Federal agents make warrantless arrests. Masked agents take people into custody without identifying themselves. Plainclothes agents in at least a dozen cities have arrested migrants who showed up to their court hearings.

And across the U.S., people suspected of being in the country illegally are disappearing into the federal detention system without notice to families or lawyers, according to attorneys, witnesses and officials.

In Coral Springs, Fla., at least eight agents in tactical gear, shields and rifles surrounded a home with guns raised to arrest a father with no criminal history.

In Irvine, Calif., ICE agents drove a phalanx of military vehicles in the Orange County suburb to arrest a person, though not for illegal immigration. They were seeking a resident’s son who had allegedly posted fliers alerting neighbors to the presence of ICE agents. …”
If you believe this is what you voted for and support it, I just don’t know what to say. This is not who we should be.

No real estate developer ever would characterize the federal permitting process as onerous and the city/local as easy. It's so obvious that he never did any of his own real estate development.

Hey ZenMode: you know how I know that Trump has no idea about real estate development? Because nobody who does would every characterize the federal process as onerous compared to local or state.

That's the same way we know that you are FOS all the time. There are certain things that a person with knowledge would never do or say. One reason it's hard to fake being knowledgeable is that people who aren't knowledgeable don't know about their tells.

If the folks with masks and guns are hurting the people they hate, conservatives have always been for such actions.

Conservatives aren't against "big government" or authoritarianism or a police state, they're only against the idea that they wouldn't control it.
