Anson Dorrance retires

Wow. End of an era at UNC, with Karen Shelton retiring last year and now Anson retiring this year. Always a good thing when a legend gets to go out on their own terms and in their own time. I was really hoping that he'd get one more national title and then retire but I think that there is just so much more parity in women's soccer now that it wasn't going to happen again. Hard to believe it's been 12 years and counting now since our last championship. The loss in the title game to UCLA a couple of years ago is one of the most gut-wrenching ways I've ever seen a team lose a game.

Not trying be snarky-but I assume he picked his successor-more or less

So I assume there is some track Coach that had Indoor /Outdoor , Mens and Womens opportunities each year that has this many titles
But like that does not count really

Began coaching when I was a student. I am about to turn 67.

Interesting coming right after the USWNT won gold, with a couple Heels starting,

Never met Dorrance, I think of him as having pioneering ideas about coaching top female athletes,

OTOH, I would love to know the real Debbie Keller story

There were about 25 years when he was likely the best damn looking Male coach in America-of any sport
