I'm just referring to the use of a blanket pardon. I get why Biden took that approach, and I 100% agree Trump will use it for massively worse purposes. I just don't like the concept in general, and it's one small part of what has me annoyed about this whole situation.
I don’t know what you are referring to, but we know for a fact that Trump did the things that caused him to be impeached twice. We know for a fact that he obstructed the investigation into his ties with Russia at least 10 times. We know Trump committed dozens of felonies. We know Trump stole countless very highly secretive documents and refused to give them back. We know Trump helped plan to overthrow democracy through a slate of false electors.
You have this strange obsession as to whether I'm really an attorney. You think a difference of a political opinion (I think it was a broad pardon to cover wrongdoing going back to 2014/you think it was to avoid Congressional harassment) dictates whether I'm an attorney or not.

Why would he "need" a pardon when the shit on the laptop is beyond the limitations period? When it has been combed over by investigators who found nothing but what was charged?

No, a realization that I'm discussing something with someone who isn't acting in good faith so no use. Was happy to see that it looks like the investigations into hunter and the biden criminal organization will continue despite the pardon. I think the special counsel said he would like to continue with it despite not being able to sentence him. As long as the truth comes out I will be satisfied. If the executive cannot specify the crimes, it raises serious doubt that they know the full extent of potential crimes. That ought to be a prerequisite for a pardon.

Not really. Lawyers execute blanket waivers all the time. You've probably signed contracts waiving all legal claims of any variety against your counterparty. There are some lawyers who can speak to this more concretely, but usually settlements also obtain "global peace" -- i.e. that there will be no further lawsuits arising out of the conduct at issue.
