Biorhythms for Carolina @SMU: 2:15 Start on CW

Idk if Scheyer has underachieved that much overall but he has won less than expected in the NCAAT

Final 4 loss that somehow makes the halftime lead UNC blew in ‘22 look mild in comparison

Mediocre team the year prior that couldn’t get past nc state of all teams on the planet in the elite 8

The year before that was about the same. Couldn’t pull away from the bad ‘23 UNC. Beat by a better Tennessee in 2nd round

Well, He just didn't have the talent that UNC had. Just couldn't get the glue guys.

Under Jon Scheyer as head coach (starting 2022-23 season), Duke has landed 10 McDonald's All-Americans across his first four recruiting classes, maintaining Duke's status as a top recruiting power, including top-ranked players like Cooper Flagg and Isaiah Evans. This demonstrates significant success in attracting elite talent to Durham under his tenure.
Breakdown by Class (Approximate):
  • 2022 Class: Landed the nation's top two players, both McDonald's All-Americans.
  • 2024 Class: Signed the #1 player in the nation, a McDonald's All-American.
  • 2025 Class: Secured the #3 player in the nation, also a McDonald's All-American.
In total, these elite recruits contribute to the impressive 10 McDonald's All-Americans brought in by Scheyer's

But don’t let that stop the HD haters from going to bat for Scheyer. They round down for HD but round up for Scheyer.

What on earth.

What more do you believe Scheyer should have accomplished in his first 3 years?
Scheyer has continued on with K's late career trajectory... assembling teams of elite talent who flame out every year in the tournament. He had 3 players drafted in the top 10 last year. We are pissed that HD is not getting more out of a team with 1 elite player. I was being a bit tongue and cheek, but it's embarrassing how much elite talent has come and gone in the past decade+ since they last even made a NC game. We are obsessed with how bad our recruiting has been, yet we've played in 3 NC games since they last played in one.
