Biorhythms for dook @UNC: 6:30 Start

That feels like a subset of the other overall great Carolina wins, though.

In general, I think this will certainly go down as a memorable win for Carolina in the rivalry, but I don't think it's an all-time top 4 win.
Spill the beans, Snoop! A brief summary of why each belongs in your top 4 wins would be relished as well. If you're feeling particularly generous, you might mention two or three that just missed the cut and share your feelings and reasons as to why not...

Obviously final 4 last k game
Coach K last game in cameron. Jay williams calling for timeout alone cements it.
17 seconds
Marvin williams put back. Really started championship run

Bloody Montross and bloody hansbrough

Then maybe last night. Just because of the way it ended.

Would also add the capel half court shot because we fucking won that game despite DSPNs propaganda

Never see blood on a duke jersey. Unless it's been transferred there.

I’m rewatching the second half, and I have to laugh at Duke fans whining if about the lack of foul calls against UNC. The refs totally swallowed their whistles for Boozer in that second half. He got away with a lot of things that would be called as fouls in most games.
I've been reading about the game on various social media sites (like facebook) and the number of dookies who are incredibly salty and pissy about this game is off the charts. Especially after Scheyer's comments. Lots of indignant talk about UNC getting only one foul in the second half, UNC fans rushing the court after the game ("how far they have fallen"), complaints that UNC played "too physical" (which is truly rich coming from dook fans), and on and on.

And I just laughed reading all of their articles and remarks and complaints. Felt too damn happy today to care about what they and their goofy-faced coach are saying.

I just want to reiterate that after having his worst half of basketball as a Tar Heel in the first half, Veesaar was absolutely phenomenal in the second half. He rebounded well, he played good defense, he was a beast inside on offense, and he hit a huge 3 to tie the game in the last minute.

So if I'm going straight top 4...

At Cameron & in the Final Four in 2022. The latter is (in?)arguably the biggest game in the history of the rivalry and the former was one of the most satisfying Carolina wins in the rivalry.

"The Comeback" in 1974. The granddaddy of them all for great Carolina wins against dook. Down 8 with 17 seconds to go and to end up winning the game is absolutely amazing.

The "Marvin Williams Putback" game in 2005. Going into that season, dook had won 15 of the last 17 games since the beginning of the 1998-99 season and we all know what had taken place over those years. This game announced that Carolina, under Roy, was really back and that the upcoming years would be far better than the previous few had been.

After that, i think you have an assortment of games that are great but don't quite have the grativas of those 4 games. Here's a brief list (in chronological order)...

1986 Opening of the Dean Dome
1989 ACC Title game
"Bloody Montross" in 1992
The "Double Blowout" in 1998 (including the greatest missed dunk of all time)
The "Bloody Felton" game in 2003
2006 at dook when Hansbrough & Co upset the dookies in JJ Redick's last home game
The "Bloody Hansbrough" game in 2007

I think the "Seth Trimble Game" is likely among these games (albeit near the bottom for me). For these, I think where you were in life when they happened likely has a significant impact on how important they are to you (for me, Bloody Montross and the 1998 game are the most treasured).

I was at the 74 game and almost walked out. I got to the top of the stairs and decided I just couldn't leave. Never regretted that.

I agree with all of this.

After the UK/Tennessee game last night I turned on YouTube and one of the suggested videos was our win @ Cameron in 01. I had memory holed that game so decided to give it a watch.

Just based on that performance it’s hard to believe how that season finished. That Dook team was stacked and played pretty sharp that night but we more than held our own. Speaking of reasons we hate Dook, the way that coach K would relentlessly harangue the officials from the bench (especially in his younger days) has to be near the top for me. Watching the full game I had forgotten just how bad he was about that.
