Biorhythms for First Round NCAAT Game vs VCU: 6:50 Start

JFC...fine we stopped attacking on offense, which was working very well, and that allowed VCU to get back into the game and ultimately win....happy? That's inept coaching.
No, it's really not inept coaching. You can say it was a bad idea, but plenty of teams take a breather at that stage of the game. As people have been observing, the team was tired. And it doesn't explain or excuse the FT shooting or the bad decisions by the PG

Clear foul on the Veesaar turnover that gave VCU the ball to tie it

Have to make shots at the end of the day. VCU out shot them from 2, 3, FT line

7 turnovers in the last 10 mins of regulation

The Tar Heels made some bad history with the loss. It's the first time in school history the program has lost in back to back seasons in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It's the first time the Tar Heels have ended a season 0-3 with losses in the regular season finale, the first game in the ACC Tournament, and the first game in the NCAA Tournament. And it's just the third time ever Carolina has lost to a double-digit seed in the NCAA Tournament. Losing three of the last four NCAA Tournament games is the worst NCAA Tournament stretch since a span from 1977-80 that also included a loss in the national title game.

Shortening the game with a big league is not a crazy or bad strategy. The Heels were just completely inept in the execution of it. They pretty much did every single thing wrong.

Horrific loss for UNC. Could be the one that costs Hubert his job.

Just need to nail the hire.

Also, credit VCU for continuing to bring the fight when it appeared to be over.

It absolutely is when we've seen this story over and over ...Psycho T himself said it moments ago.

Hubert keeps on winning!

That's correct. People put way too much emphasis on in-game coaching, which rarely has a sizeable impact.

This roster has been flawed all season. That is a fair criticism of HD. The team shooting FTs poorly? That's a player thing, not a coaching thing. The out of bounds screw up -- player thing, not coaching thing.

It should be said that Caleb has been the go-to guy all year, and his absence was particularly impactful down the stretch.

Ultimately, there just isn't much talent on the team behind Caleb. If you want to say that's also on HD, I mean, sure. Coaches are supposed to get good players.

To me, it seems like one of the biggest problems with HD is one people don't talk about as much: players seem to lose confidence and then not regain it. Evans is a better player than he showed this year. He obviously was playing with no confidence. Same as Tyson last year. I don't know why, but that seems more of a coaching issue than some of this other nonsense.

Yeah, that's of no relevance and anyway that paper says nothing. Literally nothing. And the journal is not peer reviewed.

Psycho T himself said it moments ago.
Psycho T is probably not the right guy to comment. He had a non-stop motor. He never needed a slow-down in play. He was go go go all the time.

And it's truly weird to be so selective in your appeals to authority. You know who else was a really good player? Hubert Davis. So what makes Tyler right and him wrong? Oh, because you like what Tyler says . . .

Jalen Rose called out the lazy switching defense, too. Said it gave VCU the exact matchup they wanted with Stevenson on HIll.
Stevenson is one of our better defenders. What matchup should we have tried for? If Stevenson can't guard the other team's SG, then what is he doing out there?

I've thought since the beginning that Stevenson was not a good use of NIL money and if you want to criticize HD for that, it's fair. Stevenson has just never been an impactful player outside of fits and starts. Switching defenses when players are tired and the best defenders are in foul trouble is not the problem.
