Biorhythms for Kansas at Carolina, 7 pm tip.

I knew it was our night when Caleb took a YOLO turnaround baseline shot from 15 feet with no rebounding support and it hit nothing but net. Dan Shulman then ironically praises Caleb's good judgment. Bilas had a great retort: When you shoot like that, every decision is good judgment.

I missed the first half but caught the second, so maybe it’s my fault we struggled in the first half. But I do have an excuse. A bee flew into my mouth while I was out for a run this afternoon and I went into anaphylactic shock. Thankfully I was in a park with people around and some good people rushed over to help me and saved my life. Spent the rest afternoon and early evening in the hospital being pumped with Benadryl, jabbed with an EpiPen, given a steroid, and monitored. Didn’t got home until halftime, but managed to catch the second half. That second half was very enjoyable. Dunks, dunks, dunks, and made 3s.

You’ve had one helluva day!

Glad you’re OK!

KU seemed to run out of gas — we played a solid 9-man rotation (though don’t think Zayden played in the second half?), which seemed to pay dividends. Our defense was not bad in the first half but more focused in the second half. We had gifted them 17 points off turnovers in the first half and when that well dried up the weakness of their halfcourt offense was apparent. They never rediscovered an offensive rhythm after Tiller fouled out — he looks important to their long term prospects.

Petersen is smooth and the real deal, but he made some difficult shots in the first half that he couldn’t replicate in the second half. It’s almost like he is so good he needs to learn the value of an easy shot. But I would love to have him in Carolina Blue for sure.

I don't have as many concerns as I did preseason. The good thing is that we're playing well with no one playing tremendously over their head and some obvious ways to improve individually and as a team. This team seems so much more aggressive on both ends to me than last years team.

A real tale of two halves tonight - like everyone else I much preferred the second half. 😁 If Davis can figure out what we did in the second half and bottle it for the rest of the year we're going to have a special season. This team definitely has all the pieces to make a real run in March if they can stay healthy and keep developing team chemistry. And it is sweet to finally beat Kansas again, I'm pretty old and even I had forgotten what it's like.

  • We’ll go as far as Wilson will take us this season. He looked like the best player on the court for either side tonight by a wide margin.
  • Veesaar seemed much more comfortable in the offense compared to the BYU game.
  • Will be curious to see what kind of role Luka plays as the season progresses. I could see him being one of our top 3 guys by the end of the year.
  • So refreshing to see a physical, athletic roster after last season.
Shout out to the crowd. Obviously crimson stands out in the stands more than KU’s mostly blue apparel but it looked like our fans held down the fort much better tonight than we did for the Bama game last year.
