Unless the players don't want to play defense. Because they're lazy. And players not playing good defense is hugely about coaching, not talent.

Well, this has certainly become a bizarre day.Indeed you were.
Lazy players are almost universally a reflection of coaching failures.Unless the players don't want to play defense. Because they're lazy.
They're not lazy, they've lost confidence in their coaching staff. Exactly like last year.Unless the players don't want to play defense. Because they're lazy.
If Mark Madsen can outcoach you, anyone can.Other coaches know they can out maneuver HD every game.
FIFYAnd players not playing good defense is hugely about effor, not talent.
It's been like this the majority of seasons with Hubert's teams, though. It's not just the last four games. If it is the players then some reason they don't feel motivated to play hard for their coach then that's on the coach. So the coaches that were responsible for them having that record just all of a sudden forget how to coach and lose 3 out of 4 games?
This isn't all on the coaches. The players have to take some responsibility and be accountable. They have to hold their teammates accountable. Trimble’s defense is severely lacking
Pretty much every player on our team is a high-major D1 player. You don't get to this place in college basketball by being "lazy".Unless the players don't want to play defense. Because they're lazy.
This is definitely not true. I don't know if it applies here, but Dean had lazy players. The issue is lack of alternatives. And if our senior leader can't bring it, then what?Lazy players are almost universally a reflection of coaching failures.
Lazy is relative, and you can even get to the NBA being lazy. Anthony Bennett was lazy. Hasheem Thabeet. Lots of guys don't put in the effort expected of them.Pretty much every player on our team is a high-major D1 player. You don't get to this place in college basketball by being "lazy".
I really don't know what Jarin Stevenson does. Everyone says he's a glue guy and plays good defense, but his numbers are AWFUL. He can't shoot at all. He doesn't rebound much. Few steals or blocks. 1:1 A:TO ratio (doesn't get a lot of either). Seems like empty minutes.
I never liked that pickup. Of course, I did like the Evans pickup and that hasn't worked out.
Oh man. Even Rock gave this post the thumbs up.I absolutely hate this so much for Coach Davis. Hate it so much for him. He’s a wonderful man, he’s a wonderful ambassador and representative of this great university. But it’s over. He either needs to be told to announce that he’s stepping down at the end of the season or needs to be fired and an interim named so we can get a head start on the coaching search publicly. What must be done inevitably, should be done immediately. This is over.
