Biorhythms for UNC @Stanford: 9 pm Tip on ACCN

Need to move away from Evans at PG. Earlier in the season I didn’t want HD to be hasty with that, but it’s time IMO. He’s not progressing, just barely treading water. No PG instincts nor any kind of aggressive instincts. Soft, scared, cautious.

He must be showing something different in practices I guess, or Dixon isn’t showing enough. But they gotta shake it up, and flip flop those minutes to hopefully start to rebuild some momentum.

And make a f’ing FT.

Evans might be the worst transfer signing of the Davis tenure. Kind of feel bad for him (except he’s getting paid handsomely), but he is in way over his head.
Evans got waaaay overpaid because we missed out on all of our first and second tier options and we needed a PG. Evans played off the ball last year and we're asking him to be a player that he's really not. I know that money is awesome, but it also doesn't make a rough year better.

I like Dixon a lot, but he doesn’t strike as a PG either. That said, I see a lot more potential in him than in Evans, not to mention greater confidence.

I've been thinking about Caleb and I think he's hitting the freshman wall. He's playing a lot of minutes and we're well into the season at this point. He's a great player and he's producing despite that, but I'm guessing that's part of what seems to be the issues he's having (along with double teams and physical play).

The Stanford guard that went off on them tonight is a freshman.

A career high 26 points on 11-16 FG, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block is hitting the wall?

He barely got a break tonight.

I’ve been on the side of giving Hubert time and felt like he put together a good team this year. We might still end up being good, but that seat is definitely heating up. Really bad loss…up 12 and 10 in the 2nd half. Up 4 with 3:45 to go. Some awful turnovers down the stretch. These guys haven’t figured out that every team is going to do everything they can to beat us. Guard play is killing us at the moment.

Did I say bad loss? Uggg…
Same here. Have been a Hubert supporter but losses like these are just killing him, and are simply unacceptable. I'm not giving up on him yet, but his seat is getting a lot hotter a lot faster, and deservedly so. These last few games we've not looked good at all for long stretches, and he just seems to have no answer or ability or flexibility to fix the team's issues, which has been one of the persistent criticisms of him over his tenure here.

He's making some mistakes he wasn't making early in the year and he's looking exhausted toward the end of games.

As I said, he's a great player and he's still productive, but he's struggling out there at times.
If only the rest of the team could struggle like him.

No one is going to be perfect every play. He made almost every turnaround on the baseline, if not everyone. He was unbelievable tonight. It may have been his best game as a Tar Heel. I think fans just look for things to complain about when we lose. You've got to get through a list of about 100 other things wrong with us before you get to Caleb, though.

I never said that Caleb is something wrong with the team. He was clearly either our best or second best (along with Veesaar) player, as he is every night.

There was a discussion at half about him struggling a bit and I was thinking about it during the second half. Once the game was over, I decided to post about it again and would have whether we won or lost.

The loss certainly wasn't Caleb's fault, but I think we can still discuss both the positives (many) and struggles (much fewer but still present) in his performance.

I can’t remember who else we targeted at point guard but Xavian Lee seems to be a bust.

A number of the portal PGs we targeted don't seem to be playing well.

The best PG we likely had a shot at was already in Chapel Hill, but...yeah.
I wonder if we had offered Elliot the same money we are paying Evans if he would have stayed. I know things had turned sour by the end, but I doubt he is making more than Evans at Michigan and this team would be much better on offense (though still struggling with shooting and defense) if Elliot had stayed.

Is this our weakest backcourt since 2002? The 2020 backcourt while Cole Anthony was out with his injury was really bad, but I’d sure love for this team to have a Brandon Robinson.
