Biorhythms for UNC @state college: 7 pm Start

In the 70+ years since the ACC started, Carolina had played games without its top 2 scorers exactly once before the last 2 games (78, Ford, O'Koren).

Most fans have little idea how much these injuries impact the team.

I'd suggest that missing one of the best front courts in the country put everyone on the team in unusual circumstances and, with the way State shot, we got knocked back on our heels and never recovered. Iow, neither of your scenarios are mine.
Neither of those scenarios are yours? You just said that there’s very little talent outside of Wilson and Henri.

Anyone proclaiming that if the Heels had just boot strapped it last night they would have been fine is either being insincere or ignorant.

No, I said there is very little team when you pull the strongest part of it away suddenly. Even worse, there was no real leadership. I had hoped Trimble could have done that but, with the extra attention he got, he couldn't pull it off. This isn't adding and subtraction , it's multivariate algebra.

I see. Thanks for clarifying.

I still hold firm that this team, without those two, is still much better than a team who could've easily lost by 30 last night, to a State team who hit 9 threes and shot 48% FG. It was far worse than it should have been.

Last night sucked for sure - but what sucks more is because we added all these extra teams we only play state once a year and this year it happened to be in Raleigh and we had to play them without our two best guys - hopefully we can play them again in the ACC tourney at full strength and then we will see how things go

Not last night just like the 93 national championship team wasn't better than Wake Forest the night they beat us 88-62. That's the sort of unpredictability that makes you actually play the games and not just calculate them.

From my perspective, last night was pretty simple. Without Henri and Caleb, we are not an NCAA Tournament Team. State is an NCAA Tournament Team and played their best game of the season. I also would not be shocked if they "wanted it" more because HD is definitely not Roy when it comes to building vitriol for NCSU. That was always my single favorite characteristic of Ol' Roy.

By the way, there were a lot of Top25 teams beaten by unranked teams last night. We got destroyed, but plenty of teams lost games they should win. Losing to NCSUX at their place is not the end of the world. I keep going back to those west coast losses as the ones that will haunt us moving forward. We needed those wins.

We have been a 3 man team( Seth, Henri, Caleb ) from the get-go. I doubt that even Roy could coach this rag tag bunch to a victory over ncst on their home court.

Without Caleb and Henri we could lose the remainder of our games. I'm guessing we could win two more (Sy, VT ) but more likely it would be a 1-4 finish.

I think HD's record vs. ncst is 6-3 counting the loss last night.

And, in the case of last night, highlights the consistent inconsistency of the program under HD's leadership.

Think the salt in the wound was the State fans chanting at Zayden High. So embarrassing for our program that he’s still even on the team.

At least one of them.
