The growing consensus in the scientific community is that race, as it is traditionally defined, is imaginary; an artificial construct of man. There's no caucasian genetics or negroid genetics. It's just genetic similarities that naturally occur in isolated populations.

That being the case, what does it mean to recognize Black History Month?

True. Race is an artificial construct by European Christian countries to justify slavery, colonialism and justify their theft of treasures and natural treasures under the duties of the "White man's burden." It's very much rooted in the doctrine of predestination.

Let's just call it European Exploitation Month. It's an honest title and covers the same atrocities and abuses.

A rose by any other name, so to speak.

For the record, I haven't replied to anyone and have no plans to reply to anyone. I'm posing a legitimate question.

Black history month is, for me, a time to be inspired. The individuals often highlighted during the month faced, and overcame, challenges and oppression and, despite all of the odds, achieved greatness.

That’s America.

It is also a stark reminder that our country, was built on the ideal of freedom, also on the backs of slaves.

That, too, is America.

Black history month is a reminder that we live in the most amazing country in the world, but that our past is imperfect, and we still have work to do.

And that is the human condition in a nutshell.

The history.

good question...

another good question :
The growing consensus in the scientific community is that flat earth belief as it is traditionally defined is imaginary and an artificial construct of man.

That being the case, what does it mean to recognize Black History Month ?

btw, Arthur Jensen and Charles Murray send their regards.

“It is a peculiar sensation, this double-consciousness, this sense of always looking at one’s self through the eyes of others, of measuring one’s soul by the tape of a world that looks on in amused contempt and pity. One ever feels his two-ness,—an American, a Negro; two souls, two thoughts, two unreconciled strivings; two warring ideals in one dark body, whose dogged strength alone keeps it from being torn asunder.

The history of the American Negro is the history of this strife — this longing to attain self-conscious manhood, to merge his double self into a better and truer self. In this merging he wishes neither of the older selves to be lost. He does not wish to Africanize America, for America has too much to teach the world and Africa. He wouldn't bleach his Negro blood in a flood of white Americanism, for he knows that Negro blood has a message for the world. He simply wishes to make it possible for a man to be both a Negro and an American without being cursed and spit upon by his fellows, without having the doors of opportunity closed roughly in his face.”

― W.E.B. Du Bois, The Souls of Black Folk

"He simply wishes to make it possible for a man to be both a Negro and an American without being cursed and spit upon by his fellows, without having the doors of opportunity closed roughly in his face.”

Unfortunately, 35% would curse and spit upon a black or brown American.
Unfortunately, SCOTUS and the Trump administration have closed many doors of opportunity.

To clarify, I'm not questioning the historical events. I'm asking what it means to be "black" or what it means to be "white" when race is something we made up.
The same as any other human cultural experience. When people group by choice or by force, they develop a shared sense of identity, sociology, politics, morals, etc. That creates unique culture, food, music, art, and issues. Celebrating those differences is intrinsic to the health of a multicultural society.

If there's no negroid race, what human group are you referring to? How do you distinguish between members of the group and members outside the group?

That's a much better answer than this post deserves.
