The US Army Corps of Engineers opened two dams on Friday in Central California and let roughly 2.2 billion gallons of water flow out of reservoirs, after President Donald Trump ordered the release with the misguided intent to send water to fire-ravaged Southern California.

Trump celebrated the move in posts to Truth Social post on Friday and Sunday, declaring, “the water is flowing in California,” and adding the water was “heading to farmers throughout the State, and to Los Angeles.”

There are two major problems, water experts said: The newly released water will not flow to Los Angeles, and it is being wasted by being released during the wet winter season.

“They were holding extra water in those reservoirs because of the risk that it would be a dry summer,” said Heather Cooley, director of research for California water policy organization the Pacific Institute. “This puts agriculture at risk of insufficient water during the summer months.”

On Friday, Trump posted that 1.6 billion gallons was being released adding that “in 3 days, it will be 5.2 billion gallons.”

“This release is extremely concerning,” Cooley said. “It’s providing zero benefit and putting California farmers at risk of water supply constraints in the coming months.”
All show now substance. Trump just wants to lie to the cult that he solved a problem that didn't exist and he doesn't have to worry that they will actually understand he fucked up again.

TDS!!!!! Everyone knows Trump saved California.

Wonder if lying 24/7 is as exhausting as it sounds to me or do narcissist like Trump get energized from it, just not think about it or what?
He doesn't know the difference. It's normal to him.

I just want to be sure our resident Pubs know what happened here.

1. Trump caused 2.2 billion gallons of water to be released from NoCal reservoirs in the middle of winter (the rainy season in CA), which ultimately spread across a dry lakebed until it either evaporated or soaked into the ground.

2. That water did nothing whatsoever to benefit a Californian. Not someone impacted by the LA wildfires. Not CA farmers, whose crops are almost entirely dormant right now.

3. Based on prior years, CA farmers will almost certainly need every drop of water available to irrigate their fields and crops in the growing season, which is also CA's dry season.

4. There are 2.2 BILLION GALLONS OF WATER that could have been used for the benefit of CA's farmers (which feed America in many ways), but that are no longer available because Donald J. Trump is a fucking moron who ordered that the water be released into the atmosphere in a season when it was not needed and could not make a beneficial difference.

None of the above is even remotely arguable. This is what you voted for, Pubs. This is what governance by the idiotic gets us.

His understanding of hydrology is a few levels below his understanding of bankruptcy procedures.
