No, we actually don’t.I'm pretty far from a bleeding heart, but kicking folks out of their hotels (after a disaster) in 14 degree weather seems a bit harsh. We treat "migrants" better than that by putting them up in Manhattan hotels and giving them debit cards.
No, we actually don’t.
Stay off of X. Its poisoning your cognitive functioning.
Buncombe County and the City of Asheville can choose to house climate immigrants however they see fit. I fail to see what NYC choices have to do with federal government FEMA rules.NYC to spend millions on new round of pre-paid debit cards for migrants

Probably nothing. I think he was just making the point that "we", as a country, will spend billions to house non-Americans in expensive NY hotels, while kicking Americans out of hotels.Buncombe County and the City of Asheville can choose to house climate immigrants however they see fit. You’ve been provided the reasons someone would be kicked out of the hotel. It doesn’t appear difficult to maintain eligibility for government provided housing if the person has such a need.Probably nothing. But we as a country are not NYC. I fail to see how North Dakota gets dragged into agreeing with housing immigrants in "fancy" NYC hotels.Probably nothing. riiiiiight. he's definitely not taking anything out of context and he would never criticize people using various forms government assistance in other situations. because he's not a dishonest hypocrite. lmao.Probably nothing. None of my family and friends were directly impacted. I’m from the foothills not mountains of WNC.If you really grew up in WNC, surely you still have friends or family up here. What are they saying? You don't have to rely on the increasingly garbage-filled twitter. What are your personal experiences with FEMA in WNC?
So your "frame of reference" is that 60 years ago you lived in an area adjacent to those that were impacted by Hurricane Helene?None of my family and friends were directly impacted. I’m from the foothills not mountains of WNC.
You made a point of noting of my residence in Buckhead, implying I was an out of touch observer. I merely advised, in response, that I grew up in WNC (not 60 years ago) and have a frame of reference of the area and people. I don’t know why that would generate such a hostile response but I guess it’s just par for the course. So your "frame of reference" is that 60 years ago you lived in an area adjacent to those that were impacted by Hurricane Helene?
Jesus Christ you are exhausting.
It's not the fact of where you once lived. It's that you are spreading lies, and when people who are literally on the ground telling you what is happening, you are refusing to believe them. It's in that context that you noted your prior residence in the area, which matters not at all to what is going on here. You made a point of noting of my residence in Buckhead, implying I was an out of touch observer. My hunch is that the majority of folks in this category are already living somewhere else, and are using the hotels for storage or for an occasional stay. That's likely why they aren't submitting an application for continuation. They don't need it because they are already staying elsewhere. My hunch is that the majority of folks who are being threatened with termination of services are folks who didn't follow through on the process and it's likely they never submitted an application to continue services, didn't respond to attempts to contact them, or they didn't follow through with getting an updated inspection on their permanent property.
The reason those migrants are in Manhattan is that they were bused there by Abbot and DeSantis. Hmm. Maybe it wasn't a great idea to ship them to the most expensive real estate in the entire country. How this is liberals' fault is beyond me.I'm pretty far from a bleeding heart, but kicking folks out of their hotels (after a disaster) in 14 degree weather seems a bit harsh. Several days to prepare? Several days? You think that is enough time? I mean, do you have any idea what you are talking about? No question natural disasters occur and there's only so much you can do about it. In this case, the unusually high winds - which changed directions repeatedly spreading new fires in all directions. But, is it your contention that the local and state officials handled matters appropriately? They had several days to prepare and it's not like this is the first wildfire they've had to fight in SoCal. My point is that the local residents will decide whom to hold to account and what changes need to be made.
As far as I know, I've been provided speculation on why someone would be kicked out of the hotel. You’ve been provided the reasons someone would be kicked out of the hotel. It doesn’t appear difficult to maintain eligibility for government provided housing if the person has such a need.

Seriously -- have you ever been to a big city? Presumably you've been to Atlanta. When you were there, did you notice the density of the buildings there? The sheer magnitude of the geography that has been built up by decades of construction? Now, think about that, and multiply by 3 because LA is that much bigger.
And then ponder to yourself, "what would be required to fireproof the 8000 square miles that comprises the Atlanta metro area, with the trillions of tons of building materials and the vast quantities of vegetation that I won't even try to estimate"? Would the answer be "several days" or "several years"? And then triple the estimate.
Several days. My God. Even Trump isn't that stupid.
