Canadian Conservatives should really, really hate Donald Trump - he changed what was likely an easy Conservative victory into a comfortable Liberal win.

So long as it is a government solidly opposed to Trump and the Trumplicans.Looks like the liberal party will win but they may have to form a coalition government
American conservatives should really hate him, too.Canadian Conservatives should really, really hate Donald Trump - he changed what was likely an easy Conservative victory into a comfortable Liberal win.
Unfortunately, American “conservatives” will love Trump for decades.American conservatives should really hate him, too.
In fact, everybody should really hate him.
Republicans in Congress should look at those results in fear.American conservatives should really hate him, too.

We’re so fucking gerrymandered AND the way the SENATE is structured, we’ll be lucky to win the House.Republicans in Congress should look at those results in fear.
At this point, Congress is basically irrelevant. It is good for TV hits, and that is about it. There has been so much transfer of power from Congress to the President that Congress has castrated itself. We’re so fucking gerrymandered AND the way the SENATE is structured, we’ll be lucky to win the House.
If we win the Senate, it’ll be close….CLOSE. We’ll lose it in 2028 or 2030.
Until the USA so fractures in a major crisis, the Constitution won’t change or if it changes it’ll not be an improvement.
When a Democratic President wins election (if that happens given the Electoral College), the US Senate will be Trumplican. At this point, Congress is basically irrelevant. Nope. Congress has been disbanded. The next Democratic president can just pass laws by executive order. Congress is so last decade. When a Democratic President wins election (if that happens given the Electoral College), the US Senate will be Trumplican.
We’re basically fucked.
I so hope you are wrong.Nope. Congress has been disbanded. The next Democratic president can just pass laws by executive order. Congress is so last decade.
Nova Scotia was less than 500 votes away from being 100% Liberal representation. That single area of blue has about the same number of eligible voters as the population of the town of Chapel Hill despite being ten times the size of Orange County. (this map also shows PEI and part of New Brunswick. Nova Scotia starts at that pink bit and includes everything attached to it to the South as well as Cape Breton which is the vaguely heart shaped island in the East.)Polls have now closed across Atlantic Canada.
At 9:30 p.m. Eastern, polls will close in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
The last polls in Canada to close will be in the westernmost province of British Columbia, where voting will continue until 10 p.m.
Canada is a weird parliamentary system that somehow functions with minority leadership. Minority governments in Canada - Wikipedia.Looks like the liberal party will win but they may have to form a coalition government
