I love mine too. Maintenance costs suck, but otherwise it’s a phenomenal daily driver. Efficient, comfortable, quick and damn near invisible. I will actually be a little sad when the payments end.Really surprised VW ranks that low. I love my Jetta GLI.

Seems like once upon a time car/truck brands were like teams. A man and his family were either Ford or Chevrolet. My Deddy was a Ford subset guy, only ever driving a Mercury sedan and a Ford truck. His brother though was strictly a Chevrolet guy. I remember lots of banter about such things once upon a time.
Bought the wife a Palisade last year. Great car. Not sure why anyone would pay $10k+ more for a Highlander or Pilot.My wife and I are looking to upgrade both of our sedans to SUVs, and last week we test drove a Hyundai Palisade and a Toyota Sequoia and loved both of those. We will probably buy one of each- I liked the Sequoia a little bit better and she liked the Palisade a little bit better. I’m waiting to see if either Hyundai or Toyota do their end of year zero APR deals.

The girlfriend is looking for a new vehicle (crossover) and I couldn't believe how nice the Mazda line of SUVs are now and they are very well priced. Unfortunately she's not a fan of the longer front end of the CX-30, so it's been moved down her list. Her favorite is the Subaru Crosstrek but the closest Subaru dealership is about 50 miles away and that is a big concern.I’d suggest looking at the Grand Highlander as well, particularly if a usable third row is important. The 3rd row in the Highlander and CX-90 are punitive for anyone over 5’7”. Even the Pilot is a bit tight. I don’t know about the Ascent’s comfort, but the combination of the turbo four and a CVT is concerning if you plan on keeping it past 80k miles. That straight turbo six in the Mazda is nice. I was expecting the CX-70 would be a slightly shortened version of the CX-90 rather than just a 3rd row seat deletion (WTH, Mazda). If they’d done that, I would own one. Mazda’s color palette and interior design is unparalleled among the non-lux brands.

Might want to check out the VW Taos. Seriously. It’s a very good value and cavernous for the segment. We both liked the Toyota Corolla Cross but bang for your buck versus the CX-30 and the Crosstrek just isn't quite there. It's still a serious contender and if the right deal comes along, it could very well be the choice.
Lol. I should have mentioned that I got a 0.0% (yes ZERO), 72 mo. loan with ZERO down. Every time I get the automatic payment confirmation I giggle a little about the money saved.Well if you really want to keep making payments I can help you out.
I know Kias and especially Hyundais have a reputation for mechanical issues, but my wife and I have both owned Kia Sportages for a number of years and we've never had any trouble with either of them, beyond routine oil changes and maintenance. I used to own and love Hondas but they have gotten more expensive while also having more mechanical issues.I would look into Kia/Hyundai more. We got a Mustang Mach E about 2 years ago and while it’s been good, i think the EV6 would have been better. The Kia telluride has been a good car for a few friends that got it and is not electric
My brother-in-law is an engineer and loves VWs - German engineering and all that. Loves the way they drive. One thing I've noticed though, is that nearly all of the VWs he's owned over the years have mechanical issues - nothing serious but just a lot of "tics" and flaws that require a lot of maintenence. He enjoys fixing some of the problems himself, but that's not for me.I love mine too. Maintenance costs suck, but otherwise it’s a phenomenal daily driver. Mine has had some very minor issues like an overly sensitive passenger detector (a fifth of calvados should not activate the seatbelt alert) but I have some basic maintenance done at the dealership (oil changes and such) and just let them address it then (under warranty). My last VW (B5.5 Passat) was fairly trouble free until it passed 100k but even more expensive to service.My brother-in-law is an engineer and loves VWs - German engineering and all that.
