Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah rally.

Yeah. But is make more sense with the reported location of the sniper and the location of the tent where Kirk as hit. Originally, speculation was that a bullet entered the right side of his neck and explosively exited the left side but this video indicates otherwise. Gruesome stuff.

I really have no idea how things work in the real world, but I would think that a shooter would be running and would attempt a clean getaway. The long range precision, sure -- that's expert. But elevated location? Come on, everyone knows that. Plus, it's literally the only place you could get the shot.

My game theory thread exists for a reason. The right-wing is addicted to this move. If liberals don't wake up and realize we're being played for the sucker (literally that is one of the positions in the prisoners' dilemma, lol), it's going to get worse.
I think we all understand that this is the move for right wingers but don’t honestly understand what you’re saying people on the left should do differently in response to it. Yes, traits like empathy and compassion and restraint can seem like weakness in the face of people who have no morals and will go to any lengths to seize and hold power. But the idea that the left can somehow just “out-dirt bag” the right into becoming reasonable people again and lead us to a more harmonious democracy seems absolutely crazy. It will not work. It will lead to a never ending cycle of retribution and grievance far worse than anything we have now. It sounds like the logic that has led the Middle East into the most intractable conflict imaginable.

Yeah... I don't know about this being carried out by a trained hand. A lot of people thought Luigi was a professional hitman too. We'll see.
idk what exactly whoever said "trained hand" meant, but.....the shooter may not have been some sort of assassin but average joes off the street aren't sniping someone from 200 yards.

Every time something like this happens you have all these wannabe experts looking at social media footage and saying “this could only have been a special forces operative carrying out an elaborate plan” when in reality it’s just that modern firearms are really powerful and accurate and it doesn’t take a full fledged military operation to get within a couple hundred yards of someone in a public place.

I'd go far enough to say that's very likely someone who's had some experience with a firearm, but that doesn't necessarily mean they've had any specialized training, either.

I haven't suggested anyone needs to take a break from the board.

But if I were to do so, I'd say CFord might consider one to reduce his stress. And you take one to reduce the bullshit and nonsense on the board.
I’m not stressed at all, I promise. I love this board community and it’s not something that detracts from my health or well being in any way, nor would I ever take it seriously or personally enough for it to do so. I just don’t have much of a filter or any patience or lenience when it comes to people like ramrouser or pandemicblue and I have no qualms about profanely putting them them in their place. Possibly a character flaw/weakness on my part, but certainly not one that is a result of stress.
