Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah rally.

It wasn't the hat and sunglasses that gave me pause. It was the detachable rifle in the duffle bag. I mean, maybe in a suitcase would have been even more movie, but I can see Jean Reno taking apart his gun and stashing it after making a hit.

And again, I wasn't trying to criticize you. I don't know shit about guns and what is and isn't available/feasible.
By way of the gun, if it was an AR or similar, it only has a couple of pins holding together the major components that are easy to remove and break it down small enough to fit in a backpack. Would take less than 30 seconds to break down and reassemble, especially if it also had a collapsible buttstock.

If it was the bolt action hunting rifle described in the earlier post, it would be impossible to break down to backpack size, which would suggest prepositioning the gun on the roof at another time, but seems odd that there wouldn’t be a pic of the rifle coming down the stairs since it was not left at the scene.

The selective release of info and the initial reluctance to post a pic when they knew who the person of interest was is making a lot of things highly suspect.

I like how in the span of two hours from "We were able to track them from the moment they went on campus and we have good video of him and we are positive we are going identify them" to release of a blurry "person of interest" photo of someone wearing large glasses and posting $100,000 reward for info.

sure shook that bravado off quickly
Gee, would be nice to have a professional group like the FBI to deal with this...

But that is in process of becoming yet another incompetent tool of partisanship.

Here's hoping the adults left in the FBI room get to handle this

Thank you. Could you take apart the hunting rifle quickly if you didn't care about whether it would fire again? Like just rip some component out? Or is it all bolted together too tightly? I suspect the latter.

Actually think that photo is pretty good. If you knew him, you could recognize him from that photo. My guess is they already have a name and are just looking for him.

I am really sad to say the FBI leadership is likely more concerned with spin than fact reporting
Patel is a Beavis and Butthead character

This makes more sense, but I will keep an open mind to see if a photo of a trans anti-fascist engravings are on the bullet that killed Kirk will be made public....but I'm not holding my breath

Yes, I thought the same. He may not be apprehended within 48 hours, but I'd wager he will be identified within 48 hours, considering the image quality, distinctive t-shirt (I'm sure they are tracking sales now), new tech (e.g., doorbell cameras), and Trump likely willing to commit unlimited funding to track him down.

Not so much an issue of bolted too tightly. With the right tools you relatively easily remove the receiver and the barrel (though it would take significantly longer than an AR 15). The biggest problem is the stock. On older models as described the stock would be a very long single piece of wood, or on newer models hard molded plastic. The shortest Mauser rifle stocks are 30 inches long, with some being about 45 inches. The stock would never fit in a normal school-style backpack without sticking out and being very obviously a component of a rifle and even if you had a bit of an oversized backpack to make it work, the time needed to break it down and reassemble is enough that you certainly wouldn’t want to be in a hurry.

It might really suck for republicans in congress right now. They’ve been terrified of defying trump and him turning loose magats against them. Now they think the left is trying to assassinate them.

A part of me believes the safety of their families plays into their total capitulation to trump. They are human after all. But so many of them play monsters and villains on TV/social media that it’s incredibly difficult (speaking for myself) to feel sympathy for them. Let’s see how many come out and recognize that the Americans that don’t like trump are still human and American or if they keep up what we hear from Trump several times per week, the left is evil and the enemy.

AI just searches it's image banks for similar photos with the same angle and lighting and takes chunks of them and blends them in. It is just making facial features up.

Yep, it is ridiculous.

I get it…My question about the vest was because I don’t think he was shot like they are saying…I posted a video yesterday of the shooting that someone had posted from the back right of him when he got hit…The blood pouring out looks like a exit wound to me…The video I posted has since disappeared but it showed what looked like a small entry wound on the right side of his neck…Bullets go in small and expand on the way out…A vest doesn’t stop a high powered rifle…
