Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah rally.

come on.... who really thought that Kirk was killed by someone further RIGHT than Kirk?

I sometimes feel like most of the people in government in Trump's second term are just cosplaying whatever position they hold. Patel is one of the best examples of this - he's got the outfits and title of FBI Director, but every time you see him it's simply impossible to take either him or his qualifications seriously. And there are plenty of others - Hegseth, Noem, Bondi, Linda McMahon, Oz, just to name a few.

Great. Agree. So that’s why I’m not taking the L as demanded by CFord.
I’m not demanding anything. I’m just having fun rubbing your nose in the fact that the shooter was a right winger with a gun fetish, not a lunatic leftist trans person as you said it would be. If you had any capacity for shame or maybe just a wee little bit of introspection, you’d take this as opportunity as a lesson and make yourself just a little bit better moving forward.

Here we go with the bo sides crap.
Somebody I used to know a long time ago made on facebook the best example I've seen in awhile of pretending to be a centrist while actually being a right wing Trumper. They claimed to be a centrist but 90% of their post was blaming liberals and "the left" for creating "rhetoric" that led to Kirk's death. It just went on and on, and then they closed by saying that Kirk "was a bastion of free speech. He was killed because he was effective at pointing out the left's lunacy." He then did a bit of bosiding by claiming that he didn't agree with some of Kirk's religious beliefs and ending by saying

"Calling out DEI isnt racist. White privilege is made up.
Saying only women have babies isnt transphobic.
Being a strong male figure that protects his family isnt the patriarchy. Toxic masculinity is made up.
Charlie’s assasination was a turning point for me indeed, I will no longer maintain relationships with people if speaking truth earns excommunication.
I choose the 1st amendment. The people that I cherish most also understand this. Fundamental values matter.
It’s the people in the center vs those on the extremes, they are the ones destroying our great nation."

Dude, if you believe all that crap you posted about liberals you aren't "centrist", no matter how many times you claim to be. You're a right-wing Trumper and MAGA.

Yep. Everything about this guy screams groyper.

To be entirely fair, you should at bare minimum admit that your rush to proclaim exactly who the shooter would be was reactionary and off base.
This, precisely.

This is why it’s fun rubbing your nose in it, @Ramrouser. Because you do it over and over and over, never learning a lesson. Your first few posts on this thread were to jump to the conclusion that the shooter must have been a transgender left winger, and that “the left” would finally get the civil war that it’s been clamoring for. You make yourself an easy target. It turns out- just as most of us said it probably would - that the shooter was a right wing gun nut, and that all of the calls for “CIVIL WAR” were coming from the right wing, not the left.

Not only but mostly. And it has been that way for a while. All of it needs to go. The issue is that POTUS and those around him are some of the most egregious offenders.
I agree over the last 2 days. In fact, it has affected me to the point that I had to ask myself what the fuck am I doing getting caught up in it. I have been disgusted with most politicians on the right who have made public comments. I told my son today that if by some chance Nancy Mace is the pub nominee for governor I will have to vote for the D candidate. But I completely disagree with you that it has been that way for a while. There has been plenty to go around from the left

Biden - "We're done talking about the debate. It's time to put Trump in a bullseye"

Pelosi, Harris, Biden, Schumer - "Trump is a threat to democracy"

"Today’s political and rhetorical landscape is intensely polarized and fueled by anger, distrust and conspiracy theories. It’s easier to target your political opponents for violence if you see them as “enemies of the nation,” Boyle said." So calling republicans nazis, fascists, etc. is doing just that. How long has the left been using those terms? Since trump 1.0.

My point isn't in keeping score. Its that these past 2 days have been a wake up call for me in that the republican party and democratic party, with the assistance of social media influencers and bots have been taken over by the propensity to use violent rhetoric and the only way to stop it is by a collective effort from the everyday man/woman to reject it in social media and hold politicians accountable. I'm not hopeful.
