Yep, and the older you get, it's so much more taxing. I try to do more earlier because I simply do not have the energy of someone 10 or 15 years younger than myself.

We distributed our ornaments to the kids a few years ago. I let my eldest son decorate now since we live on his land.

I've seen a few similar things on social media this year. We are planning on making a butter candle for bread at Christmas.

I love all the lights and decorations when they are up. But it is such a pain to get it done.

I dont mind it - but I am not yet 50, and I know once my kid is gone from the home it will definitely not be the same. But 6 more years until that's a reality. Honestly the thing I hate most is decorating the tree.

But there is something so peaceful about it being later in the night, the other house lights are off and it's only the warm glow of Christmas lights inside....that's something I love.

I hate christmas with a fiery burning passion.

BUT

I feel the same way about the tree. It's comforting.
