donovan i could definitely get behind.

few seems unlikely. he's 62 years old and has never lived outside of the PNW in his life.
Yeah there were rumors he expressed some interest last time the job opened. The bottom line is he's always been succesful on a national level and he's not going to be any more at Gonzaga because of NIL. If he is fine finishing first or second in the West Coast conference every year but not being a top ten team, he will stay. If he wants to stay relevant nationally and still compete at the top, he'll make a move.

I'm not sure why the clown eyerolled me above but Donovan is gonna get fired and has expressed interest in coming back to the college level.

IF...effin football is the reason that Carolina Basketball can't compete in these times that fucking burns me up.
I don't think football will be the problem, if there turns out to be one.

Like basketball at Carolina, football brings in more money than it spends. Football isn't the issue.

The biggest issue for Carolina BB is that, unlike the SEC & B1G, Carolina FB doesn't bring in enough to run the whole AD and so Carolina BB has to contribute to the entire AD.

We could change that to a certain extent by cutting some non-revenue sports, but I think everyone hopes it doesn't come to that.

I doubt that the new investment in the football program is seriously financially handicapping the basketball program. In either case though the football program desperately needed this type of revamp. If we want basketball to still be one of the top programs in the country long term, having a serious football program would be a huge boon.

Not to mention the fact that some of us who do care about the football program as passionately as the basketball program simply want to see a product on the field that isn’t total dogshit for the first time in ages.
