Even though it would benefit UNC for Duke to win, it is not a big enough benefit to justify the always root against Duke rule.

I so hate this stat. And not just because of last year. W-L record against very good teams is not a great stat and it can often be deceptive. A team that is 0-0 against the Quad 1-A is not nearly as impressive as the team that is 0-6 against Quad 1-A and all the games were close.

And yet last year it was used against us as the only stat that mattered. As long as it is used for the limited analytical purpose it deserves, I have no problem with it.

A bit like 2015 when Heather Dinich kept railing about our TWO games against FCS teams, as if that were in any way a relevant consideration when judging the best teams in the country.
