Cooper Flagg is for real on that end of the court. That dunk he had yesterday . . . everyone is going to focus on the poster but what stood out to me was a) the agility he showed in getting around the guy trying to seal him off -- I mean, steals happen with those passes but Flagg was able to get all the way around him so easily that he was already headed downcourt as he stole the ball. Then he just blew past the guard at midcourt. Just one power dribble and he was gone. Dude is a freak. I've been somewhat skeptical of him but he is really athletic.

Flagg's big problem is named Wemby. Everyone is saying that Flagg is one of the best prospects, maybe the best, since Lebron. Maybe, but he's still 6'9", 6'10, and I just don't know that a guy his size will have that much impact in a league now adjusting to guys like Wemby, Holmgren, Giannis who are considerably taller and have just as much quickness and agility.

But in college Flagg is dominant.

Flagg won't be a 5 in the NBA. You're right, of course, that he'll still be guarded a lot by guys like Wemby, but whoever gets him will almost certainly play him as a very athletic 4 paired with a 7'+ center. Giannis is a better comparison. Flagg won't ever have that athleticism, but he may end up as a better long range shooter. I think Wemby will be the face of the league for years, so I'm not saying Flagg is at that level, but he'll be up there. And he'll be a fixture on the Olympic team for the next 12+ years.

It's not so much that he will be guarded by Wemby, as much as his shot-blocking abilities just aren't going to be as effective in a league that is learning how to shoot over or around Wemby.

When I look at Cooper Flagg, I see Aaron Gordon. Gordon never developed much of a jumper. If Flagg similarly fails, I think his career will look a lot like Aaron Gordon. If he can shoot, then he will have considerably more upside. I don't think he will ever be as good as Giannis. But then again, nobody actually thought Giannis would be as good as Giannis.

Auburn was considered a title contender.
If Broome doesn’t come back at 100%, would Auburn still be considered a title contender?

Some big games in the top 20 tomorrow night - and all of them involve SEC Confernece match ups.
#1 Auburn gets a test from #15 Miss St.
#8 Kentucky hosts #11 A&M
#4 Alabama gets a visit from #21 Ole Miss (14-2 and no slouch)

Meanwhile, tomorrow night d00k gets to feast on quite possibly the worst Miami team Larrañaga has ever coached.

The only intriguing ACC game is to see if Louisville can extend their 6 game winning streak on the road up in Syracuse. My guess is yes. 7 game win streak. Our loss to them at the Yum, though a terrible look for us, doesn’t seem quite so bad now…
 
Duke is clicking on all cylinders right now (personally, I think its their excellent analytics department :)).

And that Miami team is terrible.

The thing with Duke that hopefully ends up being an issue is they aren't going to be tested at all until the NCAAT

Tough games early but the 3.5 months in between is a lot
