We do because we just don't have that intense of a rivalry with them anymore. The growth of the ACC REALLY killed Duke vs State (I mean that and we have owned them in everything, including football).

And good grief Keats can only get them to play well against Duke but they will lay down like dogs for every other crap team. It's really weird.

I have never watched that play. I watched it live in Cameron as a student. It was honestly a scarring experience...
 
Having watched the end of the 1999 dook v. UConn game for the 1st time in years, the best part, aside from UConn winning, is that on two consecutive possessions, Coach K has Trajan Langdon try to take Rickey Moore off the dribble both possessions - the 2nd one the length of the court.

Absolutely I did. I cheered very hard for Duke to beat NC State in the ACC Tournament and end their season. When that didn't happen, I cheered even harder for Duke to beat NC State in the NCAA Elite 8. The last time I think I cheered for NC State to beat Duke would have been when I was in high school, so late 2000's. Haven't pulled for State under any circumstance since then.

The even better part for me was that I had UConn on the moneyline parlayed with the over. The spread was like 8-9 points so that ML was fat, and so was the payout.

Couple that with the sweet sweet dook loss and it was one of my favorite CBB memories ever. F dook.
 
Watching the Syracuse Stanford game.

Stanford was up 22-2 in the first half, but end the half 33-24. Crazy.

I really wish the Stanford center Raynaud would have transferred here.
 
I know Auburn won't move down after winning on the road against a ranked Ole Miss squad today but I think Duke should be #1 in the polls on Monday. They're clearly the best team in the country, and they have the head-to-head win over Auburn to boot.

I just hope UNC can regroup with a week off. Next Saturday's home game against Pitt is make or break for whatever absurdly small NCAAT chances we have left.

Beating a bunch of ACC poop teams doesn't entitle you to the No. 1 slot.

No they are not. Auburn is 12-1 in Quad 1 games

They are the much better team. Experience, athletically, and physically

Fluky shooting game from Evans got duke a win at home

Not their fault the ACC blows. They can only play, and kick the asses of, the teams put in front of them. They're ranked #2 and have a head-to-head win over the only team ranked above them. I'm not saying it's some travesty or anything that they aren't #1- Auburn is really damn good, too, and has certainly earned the #1 ranking. I'm just saying that it wouldn't be totally outlandish for Duke to be ranked #1 either.

Auburn is a stellar team. Easily one of the two best teams in the country along with Duke. No argument from me at all on that point. I'm just saying that with Duke having the head-to-head win over the only team ranked ahead of them, it wouldn't be the most outlandish thing in the world for Duke to be #1. Obviously it's not going to happen until or if Auburn loses, which is totally fair, too.

Duke has also gotten much better since they played Auburn 3 weeks into the season- their offense has gotten much better and their defense is truly elite. We'll probably see a rematch of the game in San Antonio.

A head to head win at home doesn’t give you an edge over another team. You’re supposed to win at home

Auburn has played tougher competition the last two months while not losing games and it’s not even close

Agree they are easily the two best teams
