The Demond Williams saga has gotten even crazier...it's expected now that he's going to withdraw from the portal (that he's technically not in) and return to Washington.

I'm curious how he'll be received at Washington given that it's pretty obvious he only wants to be there because he's contractually-obligated to be.
Glad to see a school actually have the sense to put a no transfer clause in the agreement. Hope this means more will do the same.

I believe that these contracts typically are only good for a year at a time and I don't know that any school has unlocked the ability to keep players out of the transfer portal for more than a single year without the player having a chance to renegotiate or leave.

Here's a copy of what is supposedly the standard B1G NIL contract, from a UW athlete, although the athlete's name and other identifying/particular info has been redacted:

That's better than nothing. It would keep players from going to a different team every year. Instead of being able to play for 4 different teams they would only be able to play for 2 if every school did it.

Miami looks so much more physical than Ole Miss, but I don’t trust Cristobal in a game like this. If he plays it too conservatively they might control TOP but still get outscored.

If contracts are only good for a year at a time, it doesn't stop players from transferring after 1 year at any particular institution. The issue for Williams is that he signed a new contract with UW just a few days ago for the 2026 season, not that last year's contract keeps him from going into the portal this year.

I don't care about Miami and stopped pulling for any ACC rivals (I never pulled for dook or State, of course) after they so gleefully went after us over a decade ago in our NCAA troubles, but I do think it's fair to say that the ACC is making a much better showing for itself than anyone expected. Certainly more so than the almighty SEC. ESPN must be weeping tonight.
