In other CFB news...

CFB is going to have to put in place a better operational calendar so that the bowls/playoffs, coaching changes, and the transfer portal aren't all happening simultaneously. It's a bad system and needs to get fixed so that we can get through one thing before the next takes over.

How many teams would have to opt out for the invitation to fall to a 4 win team?

We can all admit it is time to kill bowl games right? Allow teams to schedule a post season exhibition if they like but stop the charade of weedeater and pastry bowls.

I disagree, I like bowl games and want them to continue. I think the entire bowl system needs significant tweaking, but I wouldn’t get rid of the entire thing.

Especially for the 50-75 schools that sometimes have a good year-but will Never go CFP Not that 50-75 should go every year-but they might go half the time-whatever

Don't be surprised if Texas Tech makes the Finals. Red Raiders defense is dang good. Schedule lacks beating any true heavyweights, but the only loss is when the coach decided not to play the starting QB.
And I cannot help but wonder if OSU held back a little bit against Indiana in the sense of being a bit conservative with offensive and defensive play calling. Day knows the Buckeyes are all about winning nattys and why risk too much in a not so meaningful Big 10 championship game?

Can totally understand ND’s frustration. They were higher than Miami in the committee’s made up rankings for most of the season and had similar metrics. If only they had the chance to play Miami during the season to prove definitively that they were the better team on the field….

I like the bowl games too. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but especially that week between Christmas and New Years it’s just part of the holidays to have weird college football matchups on TV all the time.

I see Wake is playing Miss St in the Dukes Mayo Bowl this year. Given that matchup I don’t expect I’ll be inconvenienced too much by the (lack of) crowds Uptown on Jan 2.
